Microsoft Appoints Former Cisco CTO to Board; Sees Multiple Exec Changes

Padmasree Warrior, 55, the former CTO of Cisco is joining the Microsoft board. She's already a board member for Box, and for Gap, posts she had before she left Cisco. 

Microsoft has appointed Horacio Gutierrez as its new general counsel, after former general counsel Brad Smith became the software company's president and chief legal officer. Gutierrez joined Microsoft in 1998 from Morgan Lewis & Bockius. Since then he has held in-house roles as a senior attorney, as well as an associate EMEA general counsel. He was also promoted to corporate VP and deputy GC for IP and licensing in 2006, before becoming deputy GC for products and services last year.

Julie Larson-Green, has been appointed to oversee the Office team. She will manage the development of the Office suite, including programs like Word, Excel and the new Sway product. Larson-Green replaces Kirk Koenigsbauer, who is moving to a role leading the marketing team in the applications group. Thom Gruhler, who Koenigsbauer replaces as chief of ASG marketing, will stay on the team in a different marketing role. Larson-Green most recently held the title of chief experience officer. She'll retain that role.

Microsoft also appointed Sabine Bendiek as head of its German operations. Bendiek takes up the role from the beginning of 2016, joining the company from her position as general manager at EMC.

SAP Witnesses Couple of Senior Leader Appointments

Michael Kleinemeier will become the newest member of the Executive Board of SAP when he takes on sole responsibility for the Global Service & Support organization. His predecessor in this role, Gerhard Oswald, will continue to serve on the Executive Board as head of Product Quality & Enablement. Michael Kleinemeier joined the SAP Global Managing Board in January 2015 and led the Global Service & Support area. He was appointed president of the Middle and Eastern Europe (MEE) region in 2013.

SAP SE appointed Lori Mitchell-Keller as EVP and global general manager of the Consumer Industries organization. Mitchell-Keller will be responsible for the Consumer Industries footprint at SAP, which covers four industries globally. Mitchell-Keller drives strong collaboration across regions' customers and partners through the established SAP integrated operational model.

Adobe CIO Joins Starbucks as CTO

Gerri Martin-Flickinger, Adobe’s SVP and CIO, overseeing Adobe’s global IT team and played a key role in enabling Adobe’s transformation to a cloud-based business, joined Starbucks as CTO. Before joining Adobe, Martin-Flickinger was CIO of VeriSign, CIO for Network Associates, and McAfee Associates. Before joining McAfee, she held several senior systems roles at Chevron.

Activision Blizzard Hires Leader for New Division and New SVP

Video game publisher Activision Blizzard hired former CEO of ESPN and the NFL Network Steve Bornstein to head a new division focused on competitive video gaming, or e-sports. Bornstein will serve as the new division’s chairman, while the company also hired Mike Sepso, who was most recently a co-founder and president of Major League Gaming, as SVP.

Intuit’s Chairman Bill Campbell Retires

Intuit announced that Bill Campbell, 75, long-time executive, Intuit board member and chairman, will step down from his role and retire from the board at the end of his current term. Campbell has been an Intuit director since 1994 and assumed his role as chairman of the board in August 1998. He previously served as Intuit’s president and CEO from April 1994 to July 1998 and as acting CEO from September 1999 until January 2000.

Brad Smith will become Chairman and Suzanne Nora Johnson will become Lead Independent Director. An Intuit board member since 2007 and chair of the Acquisition Committee since 2012, Nora Johnson will contribute her extensive experience from her tenure as Vice Chairman of the Goldman Sachs Group in managing large, complex, global institutions as well as insights into how to manage change in the financial services industry, public policy and the macro-economic environment. Nora Johnson currently serves in various leadership roles on the boards of American International Group, Pfizer, and VISA.

Intuit will nominate Eve Burton, SVP and General Counsel, Hearst, to stand for election to its board of directors.

VMware Director Resigns; Company Establishes New Cloud Provider Software BU

David N. Strohm, 67, resigned from the VMware board of directors. He is a Partner at Greylock Partners, Greylock XI, L.P. and Greylock XII L.P. Strohm joined Greylock Partners in 1980.

VMware will establish a Cloud Provider Software business unit led by Ajay Patel, VMware SVP, focused on delivering cloud software and solutions to cloud providers including VMware's vCloud Air Network. This new unit will incorporate assets and people from the VMware vCloud Air Application Services business, vCloud Director and vCloud Air Network teams, as well as Virtustream's Software Business including Advisor Planning and Migration tool, xStream cloud management platform and Viewtrust governance, risk and compliance solution.

Fiserv Appoints HubSpot’s COO to Board          

Fiserv appointed JD Sherman to its board of directors. Sherman is currently the president and COO at HubSpot. JD brings technology experience and financial expertise that will serve its shareholders very well.

Thomas J. Hirsch, CFO, advised the company that he intends to retire as CFO in 2016. Following his retirement, will remain available to assist the company's CEO with special projects and with the transition to his successor.

Palo Alto Networks Appoints FireEye Exec for Federal Sales

Palo Alto Networks appointed Nick Urick as VP of Federal Sales. He will be responsible for defining Palo Alto Networks go-to-market strategy for this dynamic vertical and leading the company's fast-growing U.S. federal sales team. Most recently, he was VP of Federal Sales with FireEye and, prior to that, led F5 Networks' Federal Sales business through a period of unprecedented growth.

Former Managing Director of Bain Capital Resigns from Fleetcor Technologies’ Board    

Andrew B. Balson retired from the board of directors of FleetCor Technologies for personal reasons. The board has not yet determined whether to fill the vacancy created by Balsons retirement or reduce the size of the board. Balson is a former managing director of Boston-based private equity firm Bain Capital.

Symantec Appoints Salesforce EMEA Marketing Head as CMO; Appoints New VP of Investor Relations

Symantec appointed Dan Rogers to Chief Marketing Officer. Since 2013, Rogers has been Chief Marketing Officer of the EMEA-region at Salesforce. Prior to that, he was head of global product marketing for Amazon Web Services.

Jonathan Doros joined as VP of investor relations. Doros most recently served as VP and head of investor relations at Solera Holdings. Earlier, he led investor relations at CA Technologies and previously held finance and equity-related roles at Raymond James, UBS, Jefferies & Company and Standard & Poor’s.

Sequoia Capital’s Managing Partner Resigns from ServiceNow Board

Douglas M. Leone, 57, a member of the Board of Directors of ServiceNow, notified the Company of his decision to resign from the Board. Leone is managing partner of esteemed venture capital firm Sequoia Capital.

Citrix Appoints Robert Calderoni as Interim President and CEO; Sees Board and Leadership Changes

Robert Calderoni, Citrix’s Executive Chairman, has been unanimously appointed interim president and CEO. Calderoni will continue serving as Executive Chairman on the Citrix Board.

Stephen M. Dow, a member of the Board of Directors of Citrix Systems since July 1989, informed the Company that he will be retiring from the Board of Directors of the Company.

Citrix named Sherif Seddik as MD and VP for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Seddik has more than 27 years of international sales, marketing and management experience in the IT sector. In 2002, he enrolled in Microsoft and most recently worked for the past 5 years as general manager of the Western Europe Enterprise and Partner Group. Prior that, Seddik served 14 years at NCR Corporation in different sales and helm positions.

Tim Minahan is joining Citrix as CMO. Minahan will be responsible for leading and evolving the Citrix marketing strategy to continue to drive the company’s vision of securely and reliably delivering applications and data. He comes to Citrix from SAP where he was CMO of SAP Cloud.

Kimberly Martin is joining the company as VP of Partner Strategy and Sales. Most recently, she was VP of worldwide business development and partner at Datameer. She has also served as VP of worldwide channels at Informatica, and led Microsoft’s EMEA channel business for several years.

CSC Elects Couple of New Board Members; Global Industries EVP Resigns

CSC elected Peter Rutland and Robert F. Woods to the company’s Board of Directors. The Company also announced the retirement from the Board of David Barram, who has served as a director since 2004.

Rutland is a partner and global co-head of Financial Services at CVC Capital Partners Limited (CVC). Prior to joining CVC in 2007, he was a principal at Advent International and served in the investment banking division of Goldman Sachs.

Woods was SVP and CFO at Sungard Data Systems and before that served as SVP and CFO of IKON Office Solutions. Woods joined IBM in 1995 and served in a number of senior positions including Corporate Controller and Treasurer.

Romil Bahl resigns as EVP and General Manager, Global Industries from Computer Sciences Corporation.

NetApp President Retires’ Appoints New Leader for Benelux Region           

Robert Salmon has decided to retire from his position as President of the Company. Salmon is the president and head of Go-to-Market Operations for NetApp. Rob is a 20-year veteran of NetApp. He joined NetApp in 1994 as one of the first members of the sales organization. Since 2004 he has led global field operations. Prior to that, he held various sales positions at Sun Microsystems and Data General Corporation.

NetApp named Sven Schoenaerts its Managing Director for the Benelux region. Schoenaerts was previously Senior Director EMEA Channel Sales.

Doug Merritt Replaces Godfrey Sullivan as Splunk’s CEO 

Splunk’s President and CEO Godfrey Sullivan is retiring. The Board has appointed Doug Merritt, who previously served as the company's SVP, Field Operations, as President, CEO and Director. Merritt has served as a CEO and has also held senior leadership roles at large enterprise companies including Cisco, SAP, and PeopleSoft. Merritt has served as SVP of Field Operations at Splunk since 2014. Prior to joining Splunk, Merritt served as SVP of Products and Solutions Marketing at Cisco Systems.

SAS Canada Appoints New President      

SAS announced it has appointed Cameron Dow as President of SAS Canada. Prior to his current role, Dow served as VP of Marketing for SAS in Canada and Latin America. SAS Canada's former President, Carl Farrell has transitioned to SAS.

Former PayPal SVP Joins Board of Manhattan Associates

Manhattan Associates announced that Ed Eger has joined the company’s board of directors. Eger is currently president and CEO of OANDA Corporation. Previously, Eger was a member of the leadership team at PayPal, as SVP and general manager for the Americas. He also served as CEO of Citibank’s international consumer credit card business.

RSA Gets New Chief Strategy Officer

RSA, the Security Division of EMC appointed Niloofar Razi Howe as SVP and Chief Strategy Officer. Before RSA, Howe was the Chief Strategy Officer at Endgame. Prior to Endgame, she spent nine years as Managing Director of Paladin Capital Group, a $1 billion private equity fund focused on investing in the national security sector. Previously she worked at Zone Ventures, an early-stage venture capital firm in Los Angeles, as a consultant with McKinsey, and as a lawyer with O'Melveny & Myers.

PTC Realigns Business Leading to Leadership Changes         

PTC announced that as part of realignment of business into two operating groups (a Solutions Group and a Technology Platform Group), Robert Ranaldi, EVP, worldwide sales, ceased to serve as such and will transition from the company.

PTC appointed Craig Hayman to a newly created role of group president, Solutions Group. Hayman will join PTC from eBay Enterprise.

The company also named Michael DiTullio to lead the company’s global sales organization, reporting to the new Solutions Group president. DiTullio will replace Bob Ranaldi, who is leaving the company after a period of transition to pursue other opportunities.

FICO Appoints Carrick Capital Partners’ Co-Founder to Board

Fair Isaac Corporation elected Marc F. McMorris as a director of the company. McMorris is a Co-Founder and Managing Director at Carrick Capital Partners. He is directly involved in the selection and growth guidance of successful companies in technology-enabled services including BPO, Transaction Processing, and SaaS.

Blackbaud Promotes Product Development Exec to CTO; Appoints President of its International BU

Blackbaud appointed Mary Beth Westmoreland to the role of CTO. Westmoreland’s scope expands from SVP of Product Development for mass market solutions to include leadership of worldwide technology strategy and planning across the company’s entire solution portfolio. Prior to the company, she served as VP of R&D for Ipswitch and Manager of Enterprise and Technical Systems at Westinghouse Savannah River Company.

Jerome Moisan has joined as president of its International Business Unit (IBU). Moisan joined Blackbaud in 2011 as managing director for Blackbaud Europe and works out of the company’s London office.

Zynga CFO to Leave

David Lee is resigning as CFO of Zynga. Until a new CFO is appointed, Michelle Quejado, Zynga's Chief Accounting Officer, will serve as interim CFO. Prior to joining Zynga, Quejado held various financial roles at Lam Research Corporation between 1999 and 2015, most recently serving as its Assistant Corporate Controller.

SAIC’s New General Counsel Comes with Experience in Legal Disciplines, Military Justice and Corporate

Science Applications International Corp. appointed Steven G. Mahon as EVP and general counsel. Mahon succeeds Mark Schultz. Mahon joins SAIC from MTS Systems, where he was SVP, general counsel, chief compliance officer and corporate secretary. Prior to that, Mahon was VP and assistant general counsel for Alliant Techsystems (ATK). Mahon is a retired colonel and served in the U.S. Army Judge Advocate General's Corps, where he practiced law in a variety of roles on active duty and in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Pegasystems Announces Management Changes           

Pegasystems’ Chief Administrative Officer, CFO and SVP, Rafe Brown, has resigned to become CFO at a private technology company. The company has begun a search for a permanent successor.

Max Mayer, SVP of Corporate Development, will assume the responsibilities of Chief Administrative Officer. Mayer has been with the company since 2004 and held the position of Chief Administrative Officer for the 12 months, prior to Brown's appointment.

Pegasystems also appointed two new Business Line Leaders: Douglas Averill for the Public Sector and Steven Rudolph for Communications & Media

Douglas Averill joins Pegasystems from the State of Maine, where he was the Director of Enterprise Process Transformation and a prolific user of Pegasystems solutions.

Steven Rudolph joins Pegasystems from Outpace Systems, an enterprise software startup focused on marketing and sales automation.

Ellie Mae Appoints Fannie Mae Exec as VP of Government and Strategic Relations

Ellie Mae announced that Piper Neal Beveridge has joined the company as VP of government and strategic relations. Before joining Ellie Mae, Beveridge spent 13 years at Fannie Mae, as director of strategic initiatives. Previously, she served in senior strategy consulting roles including SVP and practice leader at Operon Partners and as an associate at Mercer Management Consulting.

Global Marketing Expert Joins Marketo’s Board

Marketo appointed Cammie Dunaway, global marketing expert, to its board of directors. Most recently, Dunaway served more than four years as the U.S. president and global CMO of KidZania, a leader in children's education and entertainment, where she created the company's first marketing organization and laid the groundwork for its entry into the U.S. market. Dunaway also spent four years as the CMO at Yahoo, and 13 years at Frito-Lay where she held a number of positions including chief customer officer.

Sophos Appoints Sunil Sharma as VP Sales, India and SAARC 

Sophos appointed Sunil Sharma as VP sales for its India and SAARC region. Sharma joined Sophos through the acquisition of Cyberoam in 2014 where he successfully led channel strategy and sales operations for the same region. In this new role, he will drive business development opportunities, and oversee the integration and expansion of Sophos and Cyberoam channel ecosystems across India & SAARC.

Sophos also appointed Harish Chib as VP for its Middle East & Africa (MEA) region. Harish joined Sophos through the acquisition of Cyberoam in 2014 where he successfully led channel strategy and sales operations for 10 years.

Avaya Makes New Leadership Appointments

Business communications software vendor Avaya appointed Morag Lucey as CMO. She comes to Avaya from her position as CEO of VirtualCMO Limited, a marketing consulting firm focused on generating short term profitability and long term stability. Prior to her CEO role, Lucey held top marketing positions at BAE Systems, serving as CMO, and at Convergys, serving as Senior Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Management.

Avaya also appointed Steve Biondi as VP, Global Partner Organization. Prior to joining Avaya as global channel chief, Biondi served as SVP and global group executive of ISV and OEM Sales at Oracle. During his 25-year career he has also held senior leadership positions at Micro Focus, Allen Systems Group, VMware and IBM.

Avaya has appointed Hatem Hariri as MD for Africa in an effort to drive growth on the continent. Hariri was previously MD for North, West, East and Central Africa and he will report directly to Mohammed Areff, VP, Middle East, Africa and Turkey.

Benefitfocus Expands Sales and Marketing Leadership Team

Benefitfocus, the provider of cloud-based benefits software solutions, appointed Kevin Hamilton to SVP of Marketing and the promotion of Chris Shee to SVP of Employer Sales. An experienced sales and marketing executive, Hamilton joins Benefitfocus from Opower where he was most recently VP of Marketing. Prior to Opower, Kevin led Sales and Corporate Development teams at CEB, a best practice insight and technology company.

Shee will lead the Benefitfocus Employer Sales organization and focus on a rapid expansion of the customer community. A six-year veteran of Benefitfocus, Shee joined the company following a successful fourteen-year career as a sales leader with ADP. During his tenure with Benefitfocus, Shee has consistently exceeded sales expectations as both a Regional Director and, most recently, VP of Employer Sales.

JDA Software Group Promoted Long Timer as EVP and GM, Chief Revenue Officer

JDA Software Group has promoted Razat Gaurav to EVP and GM, Chief Revenue Officer to lead JDA’s global industry solutions, product management, global sales and alliances teams. Gaurav has been with JDA since 1999, most recently as EVP, Global Industries and Solutions. He has held a variety of global leadership positions during his tenure at JDA, i2 Technologies, and Ernst & Young.

TIBCO Software Appoints CEO of Saba Software as CFO; SAP Exec Joins as EMEA Sales Leader

TIBCO Software appointed Tom Berquist as CFO. Berquist has built a strong track record in enterprise software that encompasses 10 years in executive leadership roles at private equity-backed companies, including CEO of Corel, CFO of Ingres, and most recently, CEO of Saba Software.

TIBCO Software appointed Steve Hurn as SVP of Sales, EMEA. Prior to this appointment, Hurn was SVP and GM of cloud and line of business at SAP.

QuickMobile Appoints Silicon Valley Enterprise Veteran Craig D. Brennan as its new Chairman & CEO

Event apps company QuickMobile appointed David Smith as CEO. Prior to joining the company, David was CEO at Elix Wireless Charging Systems. Craig Brennan, previous CEO of QuickMobile, is with the accomplishments the company achieved as he heads back to his native California and looks forward to the next phase of the company's growth. Smith's extensive background also includes leadership roles at several start-ups such as Sea to Sky Gondola Corporation, Convedia Corporation, and Icron Technologies Corporation.

Hootsuite Appoints Former Open Text CFO to Board; Hires New CFO and CMO

Hootsuite welcomes Paul McFeeters, former CFO of Open Text, to the Hootsuite Board of Directors. McFeeters served as CFO, as well as chief administrative officer of Open Text. McFeeters has more than thirty years of leadership, technology and finance experience, including executive roles at Platform Computing, and Kintana.

Hootsuite has appointed Sujeet Kini as CFO. Kini joins Hootsuite from Open Text, a provider of enterprise information management. He has a background in corporate finance and accounting at both public and private companies, including leadership roles at GT Group Telecom and PwC.

Hootsuite names Penny Wilson as CMO. She served as CMO for Juniper Networks and CMO at Macromedia.

Tripwire Appoints VP of Worldwide Channel Sales        

Tripwire named John Kelly as VP of worldwide channel sales for Tripwire. Kelly was most recently the VP of Americas channel sales at Imperva. Prior to that, he was the North American manager of end point security sales at Cisco Systems, where he more than tripled Network Admission Control sales over a three-year period. Kelly has also held senior leadership positions with TIBCO LogLogic and SBC DataComm.

Dora Vell
