VMware Director Resigns; Company Establishes New Cloud Provider Software BU

David N. Strohm, 67, resigned from the VMware board of directors. He is a Partner at Greylock Partners, Greylock XI, L.P. and Greylock XII L.P. Strohm joined Greylock Partners in 1980. 

VMware will establish a Cloud Provider Software business unit led by Ajay Patel, VMware SVP, focused on delivering cloud software and solutions to cloud providers including VMware's vCloud Air Network. This new unit will incorporate assets and people from the VMware vCloud Air Application Services business, vCloud Director and vCloud Air Network teams, as well as Virtustream's Software Business including Advisor Planning and Migration tool, xStream cloud management platform and Viewtrust governance, risk and compliance solution.

Citrix Appoints Exec Chair as iCEO as Search Continues for new CEO; Witnesses Other Board and Management Changes

Citrix announced that Robert Calderoni, Citrix’s Executive Chairman, has been unanimously appointed interim president and CEO. Calderoni will continue serving as Executive Chairman on the Citrix Board of Directors. The Board’s previously announced CEO search process remains underway, led by a search, with the assistance of executive search firm, Heidrick & Struggles. Calderoni was appointed as a director of the Citrix Board in June 2014, and as Executive Chairman of the Board in July 2015. He previously served as Chairman and CEO of Ariba.

Stephen M. Dow, 59, a member of the Board of Directors of Citrix Systems, will be retiring from the Board. Dow has served as a director of the Company since 1989 and served as chairperson of the Board of Directors from May 2002 to May 2005.

Kimberly Martin is joining the company as VP of partner strategy and sales. Most recently, she was VP of worldwide BD and partner at Datameer. She has also served as VP of worldwide channels at Informatica, and led Microsoft’s EMEA channel business for several years. Previously, she worked at Andersen Consulting and then Accenture consulting on sales and channel transformation for technology companies including EMC, Cisco, Dell, HP, among others.

Citrix has appointed Eklavya Bhave as head, partner strategy & sales for the India and SAARC region. Bhave has previously been associated with software companies including Oracle, Microsoft and IBM. During his career, he has lead sales and execution for both vertical and geo-lead go-to-market strategies.

Sequoia Capital Partner Steps Down as ServiceNow Director

Douglas M. Leone, 58, a member of the Board of ServiceNow, the platform-as-a-service provider of enterprise Service Management software firm, notified the Company of his decision to resign from the Board. Leone is an American venture capitalist, a partner at Sequoia Capital since 1993. His focus is on internet, software and communication investments.

Beyondsoft Appoints Leader for its Cloud Services Business Unit

Beyondsoft, the provider of end-to-end development and testing cloud computing solutions, has named Ezhilarasan Natarajan as VP and Head of the Cloud Services Business Unit. Natarajan will drive Beyondsoft's cloud services strategy, architecture, and innovation roadmap to support customers worldwide. Natarajan brings to Beyondsoft 18 years of experience in architecting and delivering advanced solutions to enterprises across different industries. Most recently, as VP and Senior IT Leader he spearheaded the business transformation for the Pacific Northwest region of Sogeti, Capgemini Group.

Imperva Appoints Cloud Services SVP

Imperva appointed Meg Bear as SVP of Cloud Services. Bear brings more than 20 years experience in all aspects of the software business. Most recently, she was Group VP for Social Cloud at Oracle responsible for delivering an integrated global social suite.

China Based 21Vianet Group Names New CEO

21Vianet Group, the carrier-neutral Internet data center services provider in China, appointed Steve Zhang as the CEO of the Company. Mr. Josh Chen, founder of the Company, will serve as the Executive Chairman of the Board.

Prior to joining 21Vianet, Zhang served as the President and CEO of AsiaInfo, China's largest provider of IT solutions and services in the telecommunications industry. Prior to AsiaInfo, he worked for ten years in various IT companies in Silicon Valley, including Sun Microsystems and Hyperion Solutions.

RingCentral Appoints Google Exec and Venture Capitalist to Board

RingCentral appointed Allan Thygesen, VP of Global SMB Sales and Operations at Google, to its board of directors. Thygesen joined Google in 2011 as VP of Global SMB Sales and Operations. Previously, Thygesen was a managing director and partner in the U.S. venture and growth funds of The Carlyle Group, where he led investments in startups in sectors including e-commerce, mobile advertising and imaging.

Qualys Sees Multiple Leadership Changes

Qualys, the provider of cloud security, compliance and related services, appointed Mark Hutnan as VP and GM, US federal operations to help drive government IT initiatives for Qualys, including strategy, solutions development, services and sales. Prior to the company, Hutnan spent over five years at General Dynamics Mission Systems as senior manager of business development, cyber systems division.

Qualys also appointed new executives Dan Barahona and Simon Azzopardi. The company named Barahona EVP, Worldwide Field Operations and Azzopardi VP and GM, EMEA. Each will draw on deep industry and sales experience to provide strategic leadership to accelerate Qualys market penetration. Prior to Qualys, Barahona led business development for WatchDox. Simon Azzopardi will lead Qualys, Inc.'s regional sales organization in EMEA. Simon previously served as VP EMEA, LATAM and APAC at Secunia.

InvestCloud Names CMO and EVP of Hybrid Solutions

John Stuart has joined InvestCloud, the first investment management platform through the cloud, as the Chief Marketing Officer and EVP of Hybrid Solutions. Prior to joining the firm, Stuart was Director of Operations at City National Rochdale, the multi-billion dollar Investment Management Division of City National Bank. Prior to that, Stuart held the CIO position at Beverly Hills Wealth Management.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
