Co-Founder Steve Huffman Returns as Reddit CEO; Ellen Pao Steps Down

Steve Huffman, 31, the co-founder and original CEO of Reddit, has come back as CEO of the company. Interim CEO Ellen Pao, 45, has stepped down. The CEO change was the result of a mutual agreement regarding company goals.

Huffman founded Reddit in 2005 with his college roommate, Alexis Ohanian. Reddit has since grown into the largest social news site and one of the largest communities on the Internet. More recently, he co-founded the airfare search site Hipmunk.Ellen Pao

Ellen Pao is an American lawyer. Pao was also previously a junior investing partner at Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and a corporate director at Flipboard. She held various roles BEA Systems, starting her career as an attorney for Cravath, Swaine & Moore.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
