Edison International and Subsidiary Gets Former Agilent CEO as Director

Utility company primarily engaged in the business of supplying and delivering electricity Edison International and its largest subsidiary Southern California Edison, elected William P. Sullivan, 65, to their boards. He served as CEO of Agilent Technologies, a global provider of scientific instruments, software, services and consumables in life sciences, diagnostics and applied chemical markets till early this year. Sullivan was the company’s EVP and COO before he assumed the CEO role. He initially joined Hewlett-Packard and when eventually HP spun off Agilent in 1999 as an independent company, Sullivan continued with Agilent and was witness to one of the largest IPOs in history of Silicon Valley. 

Real Estate Firm Appoints Former AOL Marketing and Communications Exec to Board

Kilroy Realty Corporation, the office and industrial submarkets focused real estate firm, named Jolie Hunt, 35, to its board. Hunt is the founder and principal of Hunt & Gather, a New York-based marketing and communications agency that serves established brands and start-up ventures in the development and implementation of business strategy, discreet influencer relations and reputation management. Prior to founding the agency, she served as chief marketing and communications officer for AOL, and as SVP and global head of brand and public relations for Thomson Reuters. She has also held marketing and communications roles with IBM and the Financial Times.

Blackboard Co-Founder Joins Board of Hospitality Company

Premium hotels and resorts company DiamondRock Hospitality appointed Timothy Chi, 38, to Board. Chi is the co-founder and CEO of WeddingWire, the online marketplace for the wedding industry. Previously, Chi co-founded Blackboard in 1998 and subsequently assisted in its IPO. While at Blackboard, he pioneered many of Blackboard's product and strategic initiatives and played a critical role in the success of the company.

LifeLock Appoints Former COO of Yahoo! Acquired Company Overture Services to Board

Identity theft protection company LifeLock named Jaynie Miller Studenmund, 60, to the company’s board of directors. Studenmund’s most recent operating position was as the COO for online advertising services company Overture Services, which was sold to Yahoo! in 2004. Previously, she was president and COO of PayMyBills, which became the largest Internet-based bill management company. Prior to that, Studenmund had a 15-year career in financial services, primarily at First Interstate Bank of California, now Wells Fargo, where she was EVP and head of retail banking.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. Vell has successfully completed numerous board member and C-level executive searches, including CEOs, COOs, CIOs, and Vice Presidents - at both public and private companies.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
