Home Depot Names CISO from Time Warner

Home Depot, the do-it-yourself retailer that suffered a massive data breach last year, has hired Jamil Farshchi as its first chief information security officer. Farshchi will manage information security, data protection and vulnerability management. Farshchi most recently was CISO at Time Warner where he created a federated, risk-based security program. Prior to Time Warner, he was VP for global information security at Visa where he was responsible for protecting the company’s consumer payment card transactions, among other duties.

Kaiser Permanente Exec joins as AIG's First CTO

Insurer American International Group appointed Michael Brady as its first CTO. Most recently, Brady was head of Kaiser Permanente's infrastructure organization. He has more than 25 years experience leading infrastructure teams at Citigroup Inc, GE Co, Merrill Lynch and Fidelity Investments.

ADP Names Corporate VP and GM of Multinational Solutions as New Tech Chief

Automatic Data Processing has promoted Stuart Sackman to the role of corporate VP of global product and technology. Reporting to ADP President and CEO Carlos Rodriguez, he replaces former CIO Mike Capone, who left the company last September.

Sackman inherits responsibility for ADP’s private cloud systems. Most recently, he was Corporate VP and GM of Multinational Solutions. Sackman started with the company in 1992 as a division VP managing time and labor management systems. Over the next 20 years, he held several product management roles, including assisting the company’s transition to Web-based payroll, human resource and benefits products.

Volvo Cars CIO Promoted to a New SVP Position

Volvo Cars CIO Klas Bendrik has been promoted to a new SVP position, as the Swedish carmaker acknowledges the growing importance of IT across its model lineup. The promotion was expected after Bendrik presented the Volvo vision for connected cars at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona last month.

Standard Chartered names Daimler Exec as CIO

Standard Chartered has named Michael Gorriz as group CIO, replacing Jan Verplancke, whose departure was announced earlier this year. Gorriz is currently vice president and CIO at Daimler.

Over the past four years Gorriz has driven the digital transformation within Daimler. Gorriz is a physicist and engineer by background and progressed through specialist research and design in aerospace to a general management role in Daimler Mexico. Over the past 14 years, he held various CIO roles with the group and since 2008 was responsible for strategy, planning and development of all IT systems, as well as the operation of all data centres and communication networks at Daimler.

Cameron Elects CTO from OneSubsea

Subsea equipment manufacturer Cameron named Justin Rounce to the newly created position of VP, Marketing and CTO.  Rounce joins Cameron from the OneSubsea joint venture, where he was VP of Marketing and Technology. Before joining OneSubsea, he was VP & Director, Mergers and Acquisitions at Schlumberger, and led the Schlumberger team in the creation of OneSubsea.

Digital Realty’s CIO Comes from Rovi Corporation

Digital Realty Trust, a leading global provider of data center and colocation solutions, named Michael Henry as SVP and CIO. Henry is currently SVP and CIO of Rovi Corporation, a pioneering developer of cloud-based media technology. 

Total System Services’ CIO To Retire

Kenneth L. Tye, 61, Senior EVP and CIO of Total System Services (TSYS) will retire. Tye has been its CIO since August 1999 and leading the Technology Services Group. He is a 33-year TSYS veteran, and has played a major role in shaping TSYS' technology initiatives and innovations.

Dunkin' Brands CIO Adds on Strategy Responsibility

Dunkin' Brands Group promoted Jack Clare, 44, to the newly created position of Chief Information and Strategy Officer. Clare has served as the Company's CIO for the past three years, and will continue to oversee Dunkin' Brands' global IT resources, and additionally, will now focus on developing the strategies that will drive the Company's future success. Prior to joining Dunkin' Brands, he was the VP, IT and CIO for the International Division of Yum! Brands; VP, Technical Services at Constellation Brands, and held various senior IT management roles with Sapient Corporation.

Target SVP Joins TCF as CIO

Tom Butterfield has joined TCF Financial Corporation as EVP and CIO. A veteran technology leader with substantial experience and understanding of IT strategy across multiple industries, Butterfield most recently served as SVP, technology strategy and business solutions for Target. Butterfield’s experience also includes senior technology positions at a number of industry-leading companies, including UnitedHealth Group, Deluxe Corporation, First Bank Corporate Payment Systems, Norwest Bank Card Services and Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Iowa.

Blackbaud Appoints New VP, Tech Ops

Blackbaud appointed Brian Boelsterli as VP of Technology Operations specific to infrastructure engineering, within the research, delivery and operations organization. Boelsterli previously lead a global development/operational (DevOps) and Cloud transformation team across three major regions at Pearson Learning Solutions. Prior to Pearson, he led the Staples Advantage DevOps and Lean Agile transformation team.

United Stationers Appoints New CIO From Within Ranks

United Stationers named Janet Zelenka to SVP and CIO. Zelenka joined the company in 2006 as VP and general auditor and has held several key management positions, including VP of finance and margin management. Prior to joining the company, she held executive positions at SBC-Ameritech (now AT&T) including VP, IT and CFO, IT.

Hub Group Appoints Interim CIO to Permanent CIO Role

Freight transportation management company Hub Group named Vava Dimond as CIO after serving as the Interim CIO since September 2014. Dimond began her career with Hub Group in June 2013 as the VP of Business Engineering, responsible for overseeing Hub Group's Business Intelligence, Business Engineering and Program Management projects and processes. Previously, she spent 16 years with Schneider National and held several leadership positions within IT, most recently serving as VP of Technology Services.

ManTech Names CIO for its Federal Health IT Business Unit

ManTech International Corporation has named John Dorman VP and CIO for ManTech Health, the company's federal health IT business unit. Dorman joins ManTech Health from Acentia, where he served as a VP for defense health services. Prior to Acentia, Dorman held CIO, CTO, and other IT management positions at Planned Systems International, Cogenz International, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and Lockheed Engineering and Management Services Company.

Amedisys Appoints CIO from Deloitte

Home nursing company Amedisys appointed Martin Howard as CIO. He brings his 30 years of health care experience, including 20 years in the industry as a CIO and COO in organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 100 companies. Most recently, Howard served as director of strategy and operations for Deloitte Consulting.

Former AIG Exec Joins as CIO of Stewart Information Services

Stewart hired Brad Rable as CIO to help guide the company’s IT transformation. Rable most recently served as an executive partner with Gartner Executive Programs where he worked with C suite and information technology senior executives, providing organizations with tools and insights to deliver exceptional business results. Prior roles include serving as EVP, CIO and chief strategy officer for AIG/United Guaranty.

AIP Aerospace's New CIO Appointed from Within Aerospace Industry

AIP Aerospace (AIPA) appointed Rajesh (Raj) Kasaraneni as CIO to lead the IT strategy across the entire AIP Aerospace Company. Kasaraneni has had an impressive career with over 20 years of IT leadership experience. Most recently he held the position of IT Director for VINEVA, where he led the implementation of a series of ERP and transformation projects, and managed SAP data migration activities across several divisions of a major international aerostructures company. As an Associate Partner at Deloitte, he worked for a number of leading Aerospace and Defense Industry customers implementing SAP and led efforts that reduced IT costs through continuous improvement of IT operations.

Infoblox Appoints Former Cisco Exec as CTO

Infoblox, the network control company, named Alan Conley as EVP and CTO. Conley joins Infoblox from Zenoss, a leading provider of IT monitoring and analytics software, where he was CTO and SVP of product development. Previously, Conley worked for many years at Cisco, most recently as CTO of the Network Management Technology Group.

Tumblr VP Joins Handy as New CTO

On-demand house cleaning service Handy hired Ken Little as new CTO to grow its platform. Little comes from Tumblr, where he was VP of product. There he grew the team from 20 people to over 100 — exactly the kind of growth he’ll need to oversee at Handy. Prior to Tumblr he worked as director of engineering at Etsy and director of front-end operations for the New York Times.

UnitedHealth’s Division OptumRx Appoints Former GE Healthcare Exec as Information Chief

Margot Sharapova was hired as CIO by OptumRx, a division of UnitedHealth Group. Prior to joining OptumRx, Sharapova was VP & CIO, Americas with AECOM as well as CIO, Medical Diagnostics with GE Healthcare.

Options Clearing Hires JPMorgan Chase Exec to Head IT

Former JPMorgan Chase executive Luke Moranda has been appointed CIO of the Options Clearing Corp., a Chicago-based equity derivatives clearing house. He replaces Raymond Tamayo, who will stay on to assist in the transition before retiring from the company this year.

At JPMorgan Chase, Moranda worked as managing director, of clearing, global payments and treasury services technology since 2011. He previously spent nine years as the bank’s executive director of receivables and public sector technology. Prior to joining JPMorgan in 2002, Moranda was an application manager and senior project manager with GE Capital’s Heller Financial Capital.
