SAP’s CTO for Security Replaced
SAP’s CTO for security, Gordon Muehl, a 16-year veteran of SAP , is leaving to take an executive role at Indian software giant Infosys. Muehl, who has worked for SAP since 1998, will become a VP at Infosys, focusing on BD and customers’ technology projects, and will remain based in Germany. For seven years at SAP, Muehl reported to Vishal Sikka, who took over as Infosys’s CEO last August. Hiring Muehl is a further move by Infosys to inject software know-how into a company best known for contract programming and technical support.
Muehl will be succeeded by Gerold Huebner, another SAP software security manager.
EMC Emerging Products Division’s CTO Leaves
Joan Wrabetz, VP & CTO for the EMC Emerging Products Division, left. She has joined QualiSystems, the provider of DevOps orchestration and automation solutions for IT infrastructure, as CTO. Previously, Wrabetz was the founder and CEO of data analytics company Aumni Data, former CEO of Tricord Systems (acquired by Adaptec, founder and CEO of Aggregate Computing (acquired by Platinum Technologies, and VP & GM for storage area network (SAN) operations at StorageTek.
Salesforce EVP Leaves to join former Colleagues at InsideSales.com
David Rudnitsky, Salesforce’s EVP for Enterprise Sales, and member of President’s Committee, leaves. Rudnitsky has headed to InsideSales.com, the cloud-based sales acceleration technology company, as SVP, Enterprise Sales. InsideSales has hired two other former salesforce execs earlier.
VMware Hires its New CIO from Juniper Networks; EMEA Channels Leader Allotted
VMware’s CIO Tony Scott was recently appointed to the role of United States CIO. As his replacement VMware hired Bask Iyer from Juniper Networks, where he is currently the CIO.
VMware appointed Scott Dodds as VP of Channel and Alliances, EMEA. Dodds held a variety of channel-facing roles at Microsoft for more than 10 years, most recently as GM for its Small to Midmarket Solutions and Partners (SMS&P) division for Western Europe.
CA Appoints Former Orbitz Founding Chairman and CEO to Board; CAO Leaves
CA Technologies elected Jeffrey G. Katz, 59, founding chairman, former president and CEO of Orbitz Worldwide, to its Board. Most recently, Katz served as chief executive officer of Wize Commerce. Prior to that, Katz served for five years at LeapFrog Enterprises, provider of digital educational entertainment solutions for children, in a number of executive level positions, including executive chairman, president and chief executive officer. Previously, Katz held several executive level positions including chief executive officer of Swissair, formerly Switzerland’s national airline.
Phillip J. Harrington, Jr., EVP, Risk, and Chief Administrative Officer at CA left, to join Brock Capital Group. He was a member of the company’s Investment Committee and chaired the company’s Information Technology Security Council.
Splunk Appoints Former Google and eBay Exec to Board
Splunk has appointed Amy Chang to its Board of Directors. Chang is CEO and founder of Accompani, a next-generation networking platform for professionals. Prior to Accompani, Chang led the product team for Google’s Advertiser Measurement & Reporting efforts from 2005 to 2012. Prior to Google, she served as a key member of eBay’s Product Strategy team, where she helped set direction for strategic global initiatives. Chang began her career at McKinsey. She currently serves on Informatica’s board of directors and the digital advisory council of Target, among other advisory boards.
Teradata Appoints Co-Presidents to Address Opportunities in its Two Biggest Markets
Teradata, the big data analytics and marketing applications company, appointed Robert E. (Bob) Fair, 52, and Hermann Wimmer, 50, as co-presidents, reporting to CEO Mike Koehler, to better align the company for growth in its major markets. Bob Fair will lead the Teradata Marketing Applications Division and Hermann Wimmer will lead the Teradata Data and Analytics Division. Each division will be an integrated global business.
Fair is Teradata’s former EVP and Chief Marketing and Information Officer. He will continue to lead Teradata’s Corporate Marketing and IT Services functions, and will add responsibility for Corporate Operations. Previously, he served as EVP, Global Field Operations; Chief Marketing Officer; and VP of the Communications Industry for the Americas. He started Teradata's Channel Group in 1998. Fair served in sales and sales management for Financial Services Division of NCR from 1984 to 1993 and in 1997, his role was increased to include running NCR's server channel business.
Wimmer is former President of Teradata’s International region. Under Wimmer’s leadership, the International region, comprising the Europe, Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific markets, grew revenue 8% in 2014. Prior to this, Wimmer was in charge of Teradata’s EMEA business and Central Europe operations. From July 1999 until the spin-off of Teradata from NCR in October 2007, he was also head of management for NCR GmbH Germany. Wimmer joined NCR in 1996. Prior to that, he spent ten years with the French technology company, Bull, where he held various management positions in sales, marketing and services.
RSA Hires Cloud Security Exec as CTO
RSA, the security division of EMC, appointed Dr. Zulfikar Ramzan as CTO. Prior to joining RSA, Dr. Ramzan served as CTO of Elastica, a cloud security startup launched in 2012. Before Elastica, Dr. Ramzan respectively served as Chief Scientist of both Sourcefire, acquired by Cisco in October 2013, and malware analytics company Immunet, acquired by Sourcefire in 2010. Dr. Ramzan previously served as the Technical Director of Symantec's Security Technology and Response division where he was the architect for the company's reputation-based malware detection technology.
Jack Henry Appoints Director with Leadership Experience in Credit Union Industry; Fills Important Divisional Roles
Jack Henry & Associates appointed Shruti S. Miyashiro to its Board. Miyashiro is President and CEO of Orange County's Credit Union, which she has led since 2007. Prior to her current role, Miyashiro held other senior positions in financial services organizations, including President and CEO of Pasadena Federal Credit Union and President and CEO of Orange County Group.
Stacey Zengel has been promoted to President of the Jack Henry Banking division. This newly created position will provide a continued focus on the company's dedication to the core banking business. Zengel has been with the company since 2000 and previously held the positions of GM of JHA OutLink Processing Services™ (JHA OPS) and GM of Imaging Solutions.
Scott Spain will replace Zengel as the GM of JHA OPS. Spain, who joined the company 25 years back, was most recently the GM of Core Solutions with specific oversight of the operations, implementations, and ongoing support for JHA's banking core clients.
Susan Geiss has been promoted to GM of Jack Henry Banking Operations. Geiss has been instrumental to the company's Call Center strategy and has held key management positions in the core solutions group during the past 20 years. Before joining JHA in 1995, she worked for a super-regional bank with specific responsibilities in mergers and acquisitions.
Ron Moses has been named the new GM of Consumer and Commercial Solutions. Moses joined Jack Henry & Associates in 1999 through the acquisition of BancTec Financial Systems and has driven the company's imaging strategy most recently as GM of Imaging Solutions.
PTC Names Independent Director as New Chairman
Robert Schechter, 66, has assumed the role of chairman of the company’s Board. Schechter, a PTC director since 2009, is former CEO of NMS Communications, a provider of hardware and software solutions for the communications industry. He has considerable experience in the technology industry, currently serving on the boards of Tremor Video and EXA Corporation.
Schechter assumes the board chair from Donald Grierson, a long-time director who served as Independent Lead Director from 2010 to 2012, and became board chair in 2012. Grierson will continue to serve as a director of the board.
TriNet Appoints Two Key Technology Execs to Grow its Software Products and Technology Infrastructure
Craig Flower joins TriNet, a leading cloud-based provider of HR solutions, as CTO, while Sateesh Chilukuri is taking on the role of VP of software development. Prior to TriNet, Flower worked in management positions for nearly two decades at Hewlett-Packard, most recently as SVP and CIO.
Chilukuri is an award-winning leader who held executive roles in product development and engineering for leading technology companies, most recently at Lithium and prior to that at Intuit, where he worked for more than 10 years.
RealPage Names Former Ariba Exec as Chief Customer Officer
RealPage, which develops software used in the rental housing industry, hired Daryl Rolley as the company's new Chief Customer Offier. Rolley had previously been in charge of global operations for Ariba, and also had served at McKinsey.
Leidos’ CEO Adds On Chairman Role
Leidos designated CEO Roger A. Krone, 58, to serve as Chair of the Board, succeeding former CEO John P. Jumper, 69, in that role. Jumper will continue to serve as a member of the Board. Lawrence C. Nussdorf continues to serve as the Company's Lead Independent Director.
Krone became CEO in July 2014, succeeding John P. Jumper. Prior to joining Leidos, Krone served as president of Network and Space Systems for Boeing. Krone has held senior program management and finance positions at McDonnell Douglas and General Dynamics.
Insperity Reaches Agreement with Largest Shareholder Starboard over Board Makeup
Jeffrey Smith's New Yorkbased activist hedge fund firm Starboard Value has reached a compromise agreement with Insperity. Under the deal, Insperity, a provider of HR services, agreed to appoint two nominees from Starboard — Chairman of the International Insurance Society Norman Sorensen, 69, and Starboard’s Managing Member, Portfolio Manager and the Head of Research Peter Feld, 35, to its board and will add a third director nominated by Starboard at a later date.
Two existing directors - long-time board member Paul Lattanzio, 50, and Texas businessman and a former Republican member Jack Fields, 63, decided not to seek re-election. In addition, Starboard has agreed to customary standstill restrictions.
Monotype Imaging Goes Through CEO Transition
Doug Shaw, president and CEO of Monotype Imaging, intends to retire at the end of 2015. As part of a planned succession process, the board of directors intends to appoint Scott Landers, currently senior vice president and CFO of Monotype, to succeed Shaw as president and chief executive officer on or about January 1, 2016. Landers has also been appointed COO, and will serve in this role until his appointment as president and CEO.
Shaw is expected to remain a member of the board of directors at least until the end of his term in 2017, and to work for Monotype in a part-time advisory role from the date of his retirement until March 31, 2016.
Monotype has initiated a search for a new CFO and hired the executive search firm Spencer Stuart. Landers will continue to serve as the company’s CFO until his successor is appointed.
Ebix Goes Through Shareholder Barington’s Representaive Changes on its Board
Ebix, supplier of software and e-commerce solutions to the insurance industry, appointed George W. Hebard III, MD of Barington Capital Group, to the Company's Board. Hebard is replacing James A. Mitarotonda, Chairman and CEO of Barington, who will be leaving the Ebix Board to devote his own time to other Companies that need his focused attention.
Hebard served as Principal Executive Officer and COO of Enzon Pharmaceuticals, MD at Icahn Capital, MD at Blue Harbour Group, MD at Ranger Partners, and as an Associate at Icahn Associates Corp.
