VMware Hires its New CIO from Juniper Networks

VMware’s CIO Tony Scott was recently appointed to the role of United States CIO. As his replacement VMware hired Bask Iyer from Juniper Networks, where he is currently the CIO.

Iyer will be spearheading VMware's global information and technology organization, encompassing critical technology systems supporting the company's worldwide business operations. At Juniper, Iyer managed the company's technology and business operations, including critical services around business transformation, global business services, IT, and real estate and workplace services. Prior to Juniper, Iyer served as CIO at Honeywell as well as e-commerce chief at GlaxoSmithKline Beecham.

Scott has more than three decades of experience in the technology industry and joined VMware in 2013 to oversee the virtualization company's global IT group. Prior to VMware, Scott served as CIO at both Microsoft and The Walt Disney Company.

Splunk Appoints Former Google and eBay Exec to Board

Splunk has appointed Amy Chang to its Board of Directors. Chang is CEO and founder of Accompani, a next-generation networking platform for professionals. Prior to Accompani, Chang led the product team for Google’s Advertiser Measurement & Reporting efforts from 2005 to 2012. Prior to Google, she served as a key member of eBay’s Product Strategy team, where she helped set direction for strategic global initiatives. Chang began her career at McKinsey. She currently serves on Informatica’s board of directors and the digital advisory council of Target, among other advisory boards.

Interxion Hires Cisco VP as Marketing & Strategy Chief

Interxion Holding, an European provider of cloud and carrier-neutral data centre colocation services, named Giuliano Di Vitantonio as Chief Marketing & Strategy Officer. Di Vitantonio joins Interxion from Cisco, where he was VP of Marketing for Data Center & Cloud. Prior to that, Di Vitantonio was at Hewlett-Packard, where he held a broad range of positions, the latest one being Head of Global Marketing for Business Intelligence.

RingCentral Appoints NFL CIO to Board; New CMO Joins with Experience in SaaS and Technology Space

Cloud-based phone systems company RingCentral appointed Michelle McKenna-Doyle, SVP and CIO of the NFL, to its Board. McKenna-Doyle joined the NFL as CIO in September 2012. Prior to that, she was CIO at Constellation Energy, and SVP and CIO at Universal Orlando Resort. She previously spent more than 13 years at the Walt Disney World Company where she held senior leadership positions in Finance, Marketing and IT. 

The company named Al Campa as CMO. Before joining RingCentral, Campa was a partner at Sierra Ventures, where he evaluated investments and helped portfolio companies scale up operations and drive revenue. Prior to that, Campa served as CEO of Reachable, a social CRM company, and he has also served as CMO of Taleo, where he played a key role in growing the company leading to its $1.9B acquisition by Oracle. Earlier in his career, Campa was the founding CEO of JasperSoft, and VP of marketing at Actuate.

GoDaddy Names New Software VP

GoDaddy, the Internet domain registrar and web hosting company, named Lauren Antonoff as its new SVP of Digital Identity. Antonoff was most recently at Microsoft, where she had led the company's SharePoint team since 2011. She spent 18 years at Microsoft in a number of leadership positions across SharePoint, Office, Internet Explorer, Outlook Express, and Outlook Express for Mac.

Aquilent Hires HR VP for Employee Development

Leading federal mobile, web, cloud and portal provider Aquilent hired government contracting HR and finance expert Pam Butziger as VP, HR to further enhance corporate innovation. Butziger has served as HR Director at Cornell Technical Services, ATK, Swales Aerospace, Accounting Manager at Swales Aerospace, and Cost Accountant at AFG.

Dropbox Replaces Insider CFO with Tech Finance Veteran

Dropbox is replacing its insider CFO Sujay Jaswa with former Motorola Mobility CFO Vanessa Wittman. Vanessa was previously the CFO of Marsh & McLennan. She’s a tech finance veteran, having also held CFO roles at 360networks, Metricom and Adelphia Communications, where she joined as part of a new executive team that oversaw one of the most complex bankruptcy cases in U.S. history.

Jaswa, who has been at Dropbox since 2010, only got his CFO job a year ago, after the company looked at a number of external candidates. The former venture capitalist at New Enterprise Associates will be moving back into some kind of unspecified investing job, but will also remain a special adviser to the company.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults, garage.ca, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
