TeliaSonera’s CIO to Retire; CTO to Add on Responsibility
Åke Södermark, SVP and CIO, has chosen to leave TeliaSonera’s Group Executive Management at year-end. Södermark has worked in TeliaSonera for six years. Åke Södermark has had a key role in forming TeliaSonera’s new Technology organization. Åke Södermark will not be replaced in the Group Executive Management. Sverker Hannervall, CTO and SVP, will assume Åke Södermark’s responsibilities.
Amazon Web Services Advisor Joins JetPay as CIO
JetPay, the payment processing, payroll services, paycard services, human resources management firm, hired Pierre (Pete) J. DuPré as CIO. DuPré’s most recent positions were with Amazon Web Services, where he served as a Technology Transformation Advisor, and Vantiv, a debit and credit card processor, where he was responsible for re-engineering their product development methodology. Prior to that, he was Chief Solutions Architect at Micro Focus International, and SVP and CIO at Affiliated Computer Services (ACS). He also held progressively senior roles with Eastman Kodak.
SAP Taps Microsoft Exec as CTO
German business software giant SAP on Thursday named Quentin Clark, a 20-year Microsoft veteran, as its CTO. Clark had been Microsoft’s corporate VP in the Data Platform Group and was involved with the launch of its cloud service, Azure. He’ll report to Bernd Leukert, a member of SAP’s executive board. It’s the latest management change at SAP since Bill McDermott took over as the company’s sole CEO earlier this year.
Australian Bank Westpac Appoints Technology Leaders
Westpac has hired SAP's global head of retail banking Robert Wilson as its new CTO, filling a position that had been left vacant for 10 months after former CTO Jeff Jacobs departed following an internal restructure. Wilson joins Westpac as its new CTO and general manager of technology strategy and architecture, reporting into CIO Dave Curran.
Westpac promoted CIO of retail, business banking and wealth Richard Holmes into a new general manager of infrastructure and operations position. It's Holmes' second promotion in a year - he was named into his most recent position in April, moving up from his former long-running role as BT Financial's CIO. The creation of Holmes' new role means that Westpac's existing head of IT infrastructure - David Simpson, who only joined the bank in April this year after being lured from Goldman Sachs, will depart.
Caterpillar Announces CIO Changes
Julie Lagacy will become the company's CIO and VP with responsibility for the Global Information Services Division. Earlier this year Lagacy assumed leadership of GIS following the departure of the former CIO. After joining Caterpillar in 1988 as a pricing analyst, Lagacy held a number of pricing positions with increasing responsibilities. She was the CFO of the mining business and became VP with responsibility for FSD in 2013.
Box CIO Moves to Yahoo! as VP for Corporate Applications and Platforms
Ben Haines, the first CIO of cloud-based storage and collaboration software company Box, joined Yahoo! as their new VP for Corporate Applications and Platforms. Haines joined Box in June 2013 as the company’s first CIO. Prior to joining Box, he held CIO positions at Hostess Brands and Pabst Brewing Co.
General Dynamics Appoints New EVP, Information Systems and Technology
General Dynamics’ EVP, Information Systems and Technology, David K. Heebner, 68, intends to retire. The company elected S. Daniel Johnson, 67, to succeed Heebner. Johnson has been President of General Dynamics IT and a VP of General Dynamics. Previously, he served as EVP and COO of General Dynamics Information Technology. At the time of General Dynamics' acquisition of Anteon in 2005, Johnson was COO of Anteon. Prior to that, he ran the government business for BearingPoint, and was a partner at KPMG. Earlier in his career, Johnson served in the U.S. Navy.
ADP AdvancedMD Appoints CTO to Drive Innovative Product Development
ADP AdvancedMD appoints Arman Samani as CTO. Samani has more than 16 years of experience in healthcare information technology. He has held several leadership positions at MEDHOST, 3M, Medicity and Allscripts. He will now oversee ADP AdvancedMD's technology development process, including the development of interoperable solutions tailored to smaller practices.
C.H. Robinson’s CFO Takes on CIO Role
C.H. Robinson, the non-asset based third party logistics company, announced that Chad M. Lindbloom, the company’s CFO, will assume the role of CIO. Lindbloom will retain the CFO role while the company conducts a formal search for a replacement. Thomas K. Mahlke, who has served as CIO for seven years, and previous to that the controller for eight years, will be moving into a financial and analytical leadership role in the company’s North American Surface Transportation division.
Spirit Aerosystems Appoints Former GE IT Exec as CIO
Rich Richardson was appointed CIO of aerostructures manufacturer Spirit Aerosystems Holdings, as Jim Coca transitioned to a role outside of the IT group. Richardson is former Principle & Owner at UnRavel-IT, VP & CIO at Kiewit - Peter Kiewit & Sons, CIO at GE Energy - Environmental Services, Application Technology Services Director/CTO at GE Infrastructure, and Enterprise Systems Management Leader at GE Aviation.
Fortune 500 Shipbuilding Company Gets New CIO from BAE
Huntington Ingalls Industries appointed Bharat Amin as VP and CIO for the company's Newport News Shipbuilding division. Amin joins Newport News after serving as CIO for BAE's Land & Armaments division. Amin replaces Leni Kaufman, who will retire from the position after 35 years of service that began with Northrop Grumman.
Sinclair Broadcast Group Promotes Engineering Exec as CTO
Sinclair Broadcast Group promoted of Delbert R. Parks, III, to SVP, CTO of Sinclair from SVP/Operations and Engineering. Prior to that, he served as VP/Engineering and Operations of Sinclair Television Group, and was Director of Operations and Engineering for WBFF-TV in Baltimore, Maryland and for Sinclair. Parks is also a retired Army Lieutenant Colonel who has held various commands during his 26-year reserve career.
Former Turner Broadcasting Exec Named Universal Pictures’ First CTO
Universal Pictures appointed Michael Wise, a former Turner Broadcasting exec, in the newly created role of CTO. Wise, who also has the title of SVP, will lead the technology strategy. Wise has spent the past seven years at Turner Broadcasting System, most recently serving as VP, multiplatform distribution technologies. Before TBS, Wise led digital media strategy, planning and execution at AOL, and helped develop antipiracy technical strategy for Time Warner.
Hudson’s Bay Company’s New CIO Comes from Kohl’s
Hudson’s Bay Company appointed Jon K. Nordeen to the position of CIO. Nordeen joins HBC with more than 25 years of information systems and management experience. Most recently, he served Kohl’s Department Stores in several roles including EVP Merchandise Planning, EVP Administration, and EVP CIO. Prior to Kohl’s, Jon was CIO at Spiegel Group. He has also held a variety of management roles at Target. He currently serves on advisory boards at Altierre Corp and MyStyleGenie.
Dime Hires Timothy Lenhoff as EVP and CTO
The Dime Savings Bank of Williamsburgh, subsidiary of Dime Community Bancshares, named Timothy Lenhoff as EVP and CTO. Lenhoff is well known in banking and technology circles, having worked for many years for core processors, BISYS and Open Solutions, before moving to the client side with an institution in New Jersey.

Correctional healthcare pioneer Corizon Health named B. Anderson Flatt as its CIO. Flatt who was most recently SVP and CIO of Cigna-HealthSpring, brings more than 30 years of service-centered leadership in technology innovation to his new role. Flatt previously held the position of CIO for AIM Healthcare Services, and he also served in technology management roles at Hospital Corporation of America (HCA) and Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He co-founded MIQS, an award-winning EMR company, after beginning his career as a software developer.

Alta Resources Promotes IT Infrastructure Exec as New CIO
Alta Resources, a global provider of customer management BPO for Fortune 500 companies, recently named Matt Nelson as its new CIO. In his eight-year tenure at Alta Resources, Nelson has held various roles, including project manager, director of information technology and operations manager. Most recently, he spent three and a half years as the director of IT infrastructure. Prior to Alta Resources, Nelson held information/technical roles at Miles Kimball Company and Thrivent Financial.

Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe promoted Craig Dean to CTO. He most recently served as Orrick’s IT Director for Firmwide Operations and is based in the firm’s Global Operations Center in Wheeling, West Virginia.
