Salesforce Exec Joins eBay Marketplaces as CTO
eBay Marketplaces appointed Steve Fisher as SVP and CTO. Fisher joins eBay from salesforce.com where he served as EVP, Technology. Prior to that, Fisher held engineering positions at Apple and AT&T Labs. He also founded and served as CEO for NotifyMe Networks, an interactive voice-alerting platform application service provider.
eBay's SVP & CTO Mark Carges, resigned, in order to focus on a family matter. Mark will continue to serve on several boards, but he’ll be taking a step back from a full time operating role in order to prioritize time with his family.
GE Healthcare Appoints Amedes’ CEO for Critical Tech Role
Jörg F. Debatin, 52, has been named VP and CTO for GE Healthcare. Debatin joined GE from Amedes AG, where he served as CEO. Prior to that, Debatin served as medical director and CEO at the University Medical Center, Hamburg-Eppendorf. He also worked as a radiologist at Stanford University, the University Hospital of Zurich, and the University Hospital of Essen, where he served as head of department for the Institute of Diagnostic Radiology.
Dow Chemical Promotes Business Services Exec Additionally as CIO
Dow Chemical named Paula Tolliver CIO and Corporate VP of business services. She replaces David Kepler, who announced his retirement after nearly 39 years with the company. Tolliver joined Dow in 1986 and held positions at various units including Dow AgroSciences, the Europe Information Systems group and Dow Purchasing. Her most recent role was Corporate VP of Business Services and Information Systems.
Motorola Solutions’ New CIO Joins from Biogen Idec
Greg Meyers has moved to Motorola Solutions as Corporate VP and CIO. Meyers joins Motorola Solutions from Biogen Idec, where he was VP of Business IT having led IT for Commercial Operations, Product Supply & Manufacturing, HR, Legal and Finance. Previously, he was VP and Global CIO at Novartis, Director of Sales & Customer Technology at Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies, and Director, Consumer Markets at Qwest Communications.
Brian Stevens to Step Down as CTO of Red Hat
Brian Stevens, 50, will step down as EVP and CTO of Red Hat. In the interim, the office of the CTO will be managed by Paul Cormier, President of products and technologies at Red Hat.
Stevens had been with Red Hat since 2001. Stevens served as the CTO and VP of Engineering of JBoss, a division of Red Hat. Before joining the company, he had been the CTO at Mission Critical Linux, and a senior Architect at Digital Equipment Corporation (DEC), where he worked on Digital's UNIX operating system. Stevens was a developer of the first commercial release of X Window System, as part of Project Athena, a joint venture of Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Digital Equipment Corporation.
Carmax Appoints Insider Exec as New CIO
CarMax, the used-car retailer and a Fortune 500 company, promoted Shamim Mohammad, 45, as SVP and CIO. Mohammad has been VP of application development and IT planning since he joined CarMax in 2012. Prior to joining CarMax, he was VP of IT at BJ’s Wholesale Club and previously served as senior director of IT for Blockbuster.
Richard Smith has served in the role of CIO since 2006 and was CarMax’s first associate. Smith will retire in October after more than 20 years of service. Smith worked on the original CarMax concept in 1991 and participated in the overall design of CarMax’s customer experience.
Omnicare’s Names CIO with Strong Technological Aptitude and Extensive Experience in Healthcare IT
Omnicare, a Fortune 500 pharmaceuticals company, appointed Ashok Singh as SVP and CIO. Most recently, Singh served as SVP of IT for TransUnion Healthcare, and before that as served as SVP of IT for Aurora Health Care, where he led the deployment of the Epic Electronic Health Record system. He also served as VP of IT, Pharmacy & Corporate Systems at CVS Caremark.
Office Depot Appoints New CIO for International Division
Global supplier of office products and services Office Depot tapped Keith Sherwell as their new CIO for their international division. Before, Sherwell served as an IT advisor for Office Depot’s merger with OfficeMax. After the merger was completed in late 2013, he advised the company on the IT integration. Previously, Sherwell acted as CIO of Sears.
BGC Partners Goes Through CIO Replacement
BGC Partners, one of the world's leading inter-dealer brokers, appoints Eric T. Hirschhorn as CIO, replacing Yevette Tierney who left the Company to pursue other interests. Hirschhorn comes to BGC from Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he has held various key positions leading global teams across Rates and FICC (Fixed Income, Currency and Commodity) eTrading technology. Prior to that, he was CTO of Fixed Income at Morgan Stanley; Global Head of FX Technology, Global Head of Electronic Credit, and Chair of the Capital Markets eCommerce Technology Working Group at Citigroup; SVP at Lehman Brothers in the Fixed Income Technology area; and spent 12 years at Chase Manhattan Bank and its predecessors.
Tessera Technologies Appoints SVP, BD as CTO
Tessera Technologies named Craig Mitchell as CTO for Tessera and president of Invensas Corporation. Mitchell assumes these roles from Simon McElrea, who is leaving the Company for a new opportunity. Mitchell, who was most recently the SVP of business development, joined the Company in 1992 and has held a variety of senior roles in technology development, marketing, and licensing. He was a central figure in the development, licensing and technology transfer of the Company’s flagship microBGA packaging technology to leading semiconductor manufacturers.
AT&T Services Division Names Insider as CIO
AT&T named Pam Parisian as CIO of the company’s new AT&T Services division as it reorganizes toward a software-defined public network. Previously, Parisian was SVP of mobility and home IT solutions. As a key member of the AT&T Information Technology executive management team, Parisian has been responsible for aligning the wireless organization’s technology strategy with the AT&T wireless business strategy for both consumers and business customers. Parisian has also held roles at Cingular Wireless (now AT&T) and she also served as CIO for BellSouth Cellular.

Hart, who has been IT for over 20 years, spent nearly 15 years at PetSmart, serving most recently as SVP and Interim CIO.
New Dell CIO Appointment Consolidates Commerce Services into One Role
Dell promoted Paul J. Walsh to the role of CIO and merged the various commerce services he was managing into one organization. Walsh made the move in September after Adriana “Andi” Karaboutis left. As VP of Dell Commerce Services, Walsh oversaw the Dell.com website, including the implementation of sales systems and software to support customers. Walsh joined the company in 2013 from Sears, where he worked as VP and GM of the retailer’s online BU. Prior to that, he worked in Amazon’s e-commerce business and also held product management positions at Quest Software and Microsoft.
United Airlines Appoints CIO from Rogers Communications
United Airlines, the wholly owned subsidiary of United Continental Holdings, named Linda Jojo as EVP and CIO, the company’s third CIO since the 2010 merger with Continental. Jojo joins most recently from Rogers Communications, where she served as EVP and CIO, and prior to that, as CIO for Energy Future Holdings Corporation, Flowserve Corporation and GE Silicones. Jojo replaces Bob Edwards who is retiring.
Marcus Corporation Promotes Long Time IT Exec to CIO Role
The Marcus Corporation, the movie theatres and hotels & resorts company, promoted Kim Lueck to the CIO role, while she keeps her VP of IT title. Lueck, a 17-year veteran of Marcus Theatres, has served the company in a variety of IT positions, most recently as Chief IT Officer. Lueck joined Marcus Theatres in 1997 as an IT project manager and was promoted to information technology manager in 1999. She joined The Marcus Corporation’s corporate IT team in 2000. She moved back to Marcus Theatres in 2006 as director of technology and was promoted to her most recent role in 2008.
