Royal Bank of Canada Appoints Recently Retired CEO of Rio Tinto Alcan as Director

Royal Bank of Canada appointed Jacynthe Côté to its Board. Côté was President and CEO of Rio Tinto Alcan from 2009 until June 2014. Prior to that, she served as President and CEO of Rio Tinto Alcan's Primary Metal business group, following Rio Tinto's acquisition of Alcan in 2007. Côté joined Alcan in 1988 and served in a variety of progressively senior leadership roles during her 26-year career, including positions in HR, environment, health and safety, business planning and development and production/managerial positions in Quebec and in England.

Quest Diagnostics adds Noted National Health IT Expert to Board

Quest Diagnostics, the leading provider of diagnostic information services, elected Vicky Gregg to serve as a director. Gregg served as the CEO of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee. Prior to being elected CEO, she served in a number of other leadership roles, including President and COO. Before that, she held a series of senior roles at Humana Health Plans. She was appointed to the U.S. National Institutes of Health Commission on Systemic Interoperability in 2004. A nurse by training, Gregg currently serves on the Boards of Team Health, First Horizon, TriZetto  and the Electric Power Board of Chattanooga.

Iron Mountain’s New Board Member is Former Roche CIO

Jennifer Allerton, 62, was appointed to the board of Iron Mountain. Allerton is the former CIO at F. Hoffman-La Roche Ltd’s Pharma Division, where she worked for 10 years. Most recently, Allerton served as CIO at Roche from 2002 to 2012, for their Pharma division and all Group IT operations. Prior to that, she was Technology Director at Barclaycard.

Dell CMO Joins Board of Climate Control Solutions Company 

Lennox International, provider of climate control products for the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration markets, named Karen H. Quintos, 56, as a member of its board. Quintos is the SVP and CMO of Dell. She joined Dell in 2000 from Citigroup, where she served as VP of global operations and technology. She also spent 12 years with Merc., where she held a variety of roles in marketing, planning, operations and supply chain.

Appoints Google Exec with Experience in Multi-Channel Marketing Platforms to Board

Deckers Brands, a global leader in designing, marketing and distributing innovative footwear, apparel and accessories, appoints Bonita C. Stewart to Board. Stewart is currently VP, Partner Business Solutions, Americas at Google. Previously, she was responsible for strategy and business plan development for Google's automotive, finance, and travel verticals. Before Google, Stewart worked for DaimlerChrysler, where she was Director, Chrysler Group, Interactive Communications; and Director, Chrysler Brand Communications. Earlier, she was Co-Founder, President and COO for Nia Enterprises.

LogMeIn Names Big Data Expert Marilyn Matz as Directors; Former Yahoo! EVP Leaves

LogMeIn has named Marilyn Matz, 60, to the company's board of directors. A big data expert and visionary, Marilyn Matz is CEO and Co-Founder of Paradigm4, the company behind the SciDB computational database management system used to solve large-scale, complex analytical challenges on big and diverse data. She is also a co-chair of the Mass Technology Leadership Council's Big Data cluster. Prior to Paradigm4, she was a co-founder of Cognex and SVP of the company's PC Vision Products Group.

Hilary Schneider, 53, who was a LogMeIn director since 2011 and is the former EVP, Americas of Yahoo!, has resigned from the company's board.

Ellie Mae Adds CIO Advisory Group CEO as Board Member

Ellie Mae appointed Marina Levinson to its Board of Directors. Levinson is currently the founder and CEO of CIO Advisory Group, which provides technology advice to CEOs, PE firms, VCs and start-ups. Levinson is also a partner in an early-stage VC firm, Benhamou Global Ventures. Her expertise includes cloud computing, SaaS, mobile and data analytics. Prior to founding CIO Advisory Group, she held global CIO roles with NetApp, and Palm. Levinson began working with Ellie Mae in 2012 as the chair of the Ellie Mae Technology Advisory Board.

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
