Jude Buckley joined as Corporate VP of Consumer Channels Group. He joins Microsoft from Best Buy, where he was Chief Commercial Officer. Before that, Buckley was managing director of The Carphone Warehouse in Sweden. Microsoft CMO Chris Capossela had been functioning as the interim head of the Consumer Channels Group.
Jeff Teper, Corporate VP of Office Servers and Services moved to Corporate VP of Corporate Strategy role. Teper formerly worked as the Office software VP who helped guide that unit's transition to web-based products. Teper also led the development of the SharePoint server product, and more-recently led Microsoft to the cloud with the Office 365 service.
Zoaib Hoosen, COO, South Africa was appointed as Managing Director, South Africa. Hoosen joined Microsoft South Africa in 2010 as enterprise and partner group director and was promoted to COO in 2013.
Hoosen will take the reins from Mteto Nyati, who has run Microsoft’s South African operation since September 2008. Nyati has been named as GM for Middle East and African emerging regions. Nyati’s new role involves working with leadership teams across the Middle East and Africa to develop and implement growth strategies for the emerging markets in the region.
Adobe Appoints its First-Ever Public Sector CTO
Adobe has appointed John Landwehr as its first-ever public sector CTO. Landwehr has more than 20 years of enterprise technology experience working with commercial and public sector organizations. At Adobe his innovations include Adobe’s first iPhone and BlackBerry mobile applications, and many other things. His public sector experience includes solutions incorporating electronic documents, digital media, Web content management, analytics, information assurance and collaboration technologies. He has provided testimony to Congress, and held positions at NeXT and Apple.
Salesforce.com Appoints Mark Hawkins from Autodesk to Replace Retiring CFO Graham Smith
Salesforce.com has hired Mark Hawkins, 55, as CFO, replacing Graham Smith, 54, who retires. Hawkins was most recently the EVP & CFO of Autodesk. Prior to joining Autodesk in 2009, Hawkins was CFO and SVP of Finance & IT at Logitech International . Hawkins worked with Dell, serving as VP of Finance for the Worldwide Procurement and Logistics organization, as well as VP of Finance for the U.S. Home Segment. Before joining Dell in 2000, Hawkins worked with Hewlett-Packard for almost 19 years, serving on the Board of HP's Japan and Shanghai Analytical Joint Ventures and living in Europe. He serves on the board of media sharing solutions company Plex, and served on BMC Software’s board from 2010 through 2013, until the company was taken private.
Graham Smith expressed his intention to retire from his position as EVP and CFO earlier this year. Before joining salesforce.com in late 2007, Smith served as CFO of Advent Software, the software and services provider to the investment management industry. Prior to Advent, Smith was CFO of Vitria Technology, CFO for Nuance Communications, and spent 11 years at Oracle in a variety of senior finance roles, lastly as VP of finance for worldwide operations.
Symantec Appoints Adrian Jones as SVP, APJ
Symantec named Adrian Jones as SVP for its Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region. Most recently he was the General Manager and SVP of Oracle Asia Pacific. Prior to joining Oracle he was SVP of Enterprise Servers, Storage, and Networking responsible for driving global customer relationships and channel partnerships at Hewlett Packard in Asia Pacific and Japan. He also held the position of VP and General Manager of HP's Americas Solution Partners managing all channel partnerships throughout Canada.
RBS's ex-boss in US, Ellen Alemany, Joins FIS’ Board
Fidelity National Information Services appoints Ellen Alemany, 58, to its board. A former head of RBS Americas, and Chair and CEO of RBS' Citizens Financial Group, Alemany has more than 35 years of experience in the financial industry. In 2007, Alemany joined as Head of RBS Americas, and Chair and CEO of RBS' Citizens Financial Group, and served as a consultant to the company until her retirement in 2013. Beginning as Area Head of Citibank's NY Leveraged Capital Group, she grew to CEO of Global Transaction Services at the firm and spent five years on the board of Citigroup North America. Alemany began her career in Operations at Chase Manhattan before being recruited to Citibank in 1987. She has served on the boards of ADP since 2011 and CIT Group since early 2014.
Citrix Systems Eliminates CMO Role as Exec Leaves
Steve A. Daheb, SVP and CMO of Citrix Systems, has decided to leave. As a result of the reorganization, Citrix has eliminated the role of CMO. Daheb has agreed to remain as an employee of Citrix to provide transitional advisory services to the company through early 2015.
Cognizant’s Strategic Partnerships SVP Joins CSC to Lead Strategy and Growth for Data, Cloud and Cybersecurity Businesses
CSC named Ashish Mahadwar as EVP and general manager, Strategic Business. He will lead strategy and growth for CSC’s next-generation strategic business units: big data, cloud computing and cybersecurity. Mahadwar most recently served as SVP and global head of Strategic Partnerships at Cognizant joining the company in 2003. Earlier in his career Mahadwar co-founded Planetasia.com, and held management positions for Microland and for an HCL and HP joint venture. He also served in analyst roles at A. F. Ferguson & Co. and CMC.
ServiceNow Adds Seasoned Female Execs as Directors
ServiceNow appointed Susan Bostrom, 53, and Anita Sands, 38, to its board of directors. Bostrom spent 14 years at Cisco, serving most recently as EVP and CMO. Bostrom served in a number of positions at Cisco, including SVP, Global Government Affairs and the Internet Business Solutions Group and VP of Applications and Services Marketing. She currently serves on the boards of Varian Medical Systems, Cadence Design Systems, Marketo, and Rocket Fuel.
Anita Sands joins the ServiceNow board with significant financial services background, most recently serving as group managing director, head of change leadership and a member of the Wealth Management Americas Executive Committee of UBS Financial Services. She also served as COO at UBS. Prior to joining UBS, she was MD and head of transformation management at Citigroup Global Technology and Operations organization. She also held several leadership positions with RBC Financial Group and CIBC. Sands currently serves on the board of Symantec.
Pitney Bowes Names North American and Latin American Sales Leader for Document Messaging Technologies Business
Pitney Bowes appoints Matthew (Tony) DeVore to lead North American and Latin American direct sales for the company’s Document Messaging Technologies business. Before joining Pitney Bowes, DeVore was a VP in business development with IBM. He has over 24 years of experience in international sales, sales management, operations management, negotiation, enterprise business development, OEM sales and business development, and IP sales and licensing. DeVore also served in the United States Army where he attained the rank of Captain.
FireEye Appoints Privacy Chief; Forms New Global Privacy Group
FireEye appointed Shane McGee as Chief Privacy Officer. McGee, previously General Counsel and VP of legal affairs at Mandiant, will assume responsibility for growing and governing a new global privacy program that will establish data protection standards and lead industry improvement initiatives. McGee has worked as a practicing attorney in the areas of data privacy and security law for 15 years. He headed SNR Denton's (now Dentons) U.S. Data Protection practice prior to joining Mandiant as general counsel in 2011. Before becoming a practicing attorney, McGee was programmer, consultant and instructor, and remains a Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP).
Jack Henry Loses Director with Knowledge of Financial Institutions and Financial Services Industry
Wesley A. Brown, 59, resigned from the provider of core information processing solutions for community banks, Jack Henry’s Board due to changes in the terms of his employment at St. Charles Capital. Brown had served on the Board as an independent director since 2005. Prior to founding St. Charles Capital, he served as MD of McDonald Investments, as EVP of the Wallach Company, and as SVP in the Corporate Finance Department of Boettcher & Company.
Former Goldman Sachs Partner Joins SS&C Technologies’ Board
SS&C Technologies Holdings named Michael J. Zamkow, former Goldman Sachs partner, to its Board of Directors. Zamkow was a partner in Goldman Sachs from 1994 to 2001. From 1999 he was responsible for the firm's fixed income, currency and commodity areas until his retirement in 2001. He was a Board Member of the FIA (Futures Industry Association) and LCH (London Clearing House) and also oversaw E-commerce activities for Goldman in London. He started his career at Goldman in 1984.
TIBCO Software Adds Former Gartner CEO and Current Marketo CEO as Board Members; HP Exec Named President
TIBCO Software appointed Manuel "Manny" Fernandez, 68, a highly accomplished industry pioneer and technology executive, to the board. Fernandez was the founder of Gavilan Computer Corporation – the company responsible for developing one of the first portable laptop computers. He also served as the president, chairman and CEO of Gartner and president and CEO of Dataquest. Fernandez has been the managing director of SI Ventures, a venture capital firm, since 1998. Fernandez began his career in engineering positions with ITT and Harris Corporation.
Phillip M. ‘Phil’ Fernandez, 54, a visionary in marketing and cloud technology, joined the TIBCO board. Fernandez is the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Marketo. Before founding Marketo and leading it to a successful IPO, he was president and COO of Epiphany, a leader in Web-based analytic application solutions for Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM). He also served as COO of Red Brick Systems. He is the author of the book Revenue Disruption (Wiley, 2012), and a well-known writer and speaker on topics related to digital marketing, marketing automation and entrepreneurialism.
TIBCO Software also named R. Todd Bradley, 55, to the position of President. Bradley joined TIBCO from Hewlett-Packard, where he served in various capacities from 2005 to 2014, including EVP of the Printing and Personal Systems Group. Prior to Hewlett-Packard, he held senior roles at GE Capital, The Dun & Bradstreet, Gateway, FedEx and palmOne, where he was the CEO.
Guidewire Software’s Product Development VP Leaves
Jeremy Henrickson, 40, departs as VP, Product Development of Guidewire Software, a provider of system software to the global property and casualty insurance industry. Earlier, he served as a Director of Product Management and Program Manager and was a founding member of the European sales team and prepared the products for the global insurance market. He served as the Senior Product Manager of ClaimCenter which grew from three to 14 customers under his leadership. Prior to Guidewire, Henrickson served as a Director of Technology Services at Reactivity (later acquired by Cisco) and held various technical and research roles at Apple.
FICO Appoints Canadian Business Head
Big data analytics software and predictive analytics software company Fair Isaac (FICO) appointed insider exec Kevin Deveau to lead Canadian operations. Prior to joining FICO, Deveau was the COO for ICOD, a provider of cloud-based business and technology solutions to the global financial services industry.
EPAM Systems’ Board Members Leave
Andrew J. Guff, 53, and Donald P. Spencer, 59, will no more seek re-election to software services and solutions provider EPAM Systems’ Board. Guff is a Managing Director and Founding Partner at Siguler Guff & Company. Prior to founding Siguler Guff, he was with PaineWebber for 11 years in a range of both principal and advisory capacities. Guff was instrumental in the formation of Russia Partners Company, and was a Principal within PaineWebber’s Merchant Banking Group, where he was engaged in structuring and managing investments using the firm’s capital. He also served for four years as an Assistant to the President of PaineWebber.
Spencer is a Managing Director and Founding Partner at Siguler Guff & Company. He is the Firm’s Senior Counsel. Pegasystems Appoints Leader for Global Legal and Compliance Groups
Business process management (BPM) and CRM solutions company Pegasystems appointed Anne Warner to the position of General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer. She was previously Executive Director and International Counsel at Alexion Pharmaceuticals. Prior to Alexion, Warner held the position of Senior Counsel, M&A for Inverness Medical (now Alere), where she provided counsel on 25 deals in 13 countries. Previously, she was General Counsel to two privately held software companies in the Boston area.
Intermedia.net’s Chair/CEO Resigns from Proofpoint’s Board
Philip Koen, 62, resigned from security-as-a-service vendor Proofpoint’s Board. Koen has been Chairman and CEO of Intermedia.net, a cloud-based provider of hosted Microsoft Exchange, collaboration and content management services, since 2011. Earlier, Koen was CEO of Montero Partners, an advisory services company, and CEO and Director of Savvis. Koen was employed by Equinix, a provider of network neutral data centers and Internet exchange services, as President and COO and as Chief Financial Officer.
