AT&T Adds Silver Lake Co-Founder as Director
AT&T has appointed Glenn Hutchins, 58, to its board of directors. Hutchins is Co-Founder and former Co-CEO of Silver Lake, a global leader in technology investing. Hutchins’ career spans three decades in finance and technology. He co-founded Silver Lake in 1999. Previously, Hutchins served as a special advisor on economic and healthcare policy to President Bill Clinton.
Citrix Appoints Symantec Exec to Lead Mobile Platforms Group
Citrix appointed Brian Dye as Group VP and GM of its Mobile Platforms group with responsibility for the company’s enterprise mobility management (EMM) and mobile device management (MDM) solutions. Dye joins Citrix after spending more than a decade at Symantec where he held numerous leadership roles in product management, engineering, support and operations - most recently serving as senior vice president for the Information Security Group. Before joining Symantec, he held key roles in engineering, program management, and BD at Procter and Gamble, E Ink, and Xerox PARC.
Former Sybase Exec Joins BlackBerry as COO
BlackBerry appoints a new COO, Marty Beard. Most recently, Beard was Chairman and CEO of LiveOps, a provider of cloud applications for customer service. Prior to joining LiveOps, he was President of Sybase 365 (a subsidiary of Sybase), a mobile messaging and mobile commerce services unit, and held a series of executive positions including SVP of Marketing. Prior to Sybase, Marty worked at Oracle as Vice President of Oracle Online, its e-Commerce service unit.
Polycom Hires President, Asia Pacific from Juniper Networks
Geoff Thomas has joined the company as President, Polycom Asia Pacific. Thomas joins Polycom from Juniper Networks, where he was VP, Enterprise Sales Asia Pacific. Prior to his role at Juniper Networks, he had a successful 15-year career at Microsoft, where he held several executive leadership positions.
8x8 Appoints SaaS and Enterprise Software Industry Exec as VP, Finance
VoIP Solutions Company 8x8 appointed Raghavan (Ragh) Sarathy to the newly created role of Vice President of Finance. Sarathy most recently served as VP/senior equity analyst of enterprise software at Dougherty & Co. and brings over 20 years of experience in SaaS and enterprise software markets to 8x8. Before, he was senior equity analyst/VP at Ferris Baker Watts where he built the firm’s SaaS coverage from the ground up and covered 10 software companies. Prior to this, he held a variety of sales, marketing, product management and engineering roles with Oracle and several Silicon Valley software start-ups.
