Ericsson Group Function Strategy Head Resigns
Douglas Gilstrap will resign from his role as SVP and Head of Group Function Strategy of Ericsson. Gilstrap joined Ericsson in this role in 2009 and has been responsible for developing Ericsson's business strategy and driving the company's M&A activities during this time. He has also played a key role in dissolving the ST-Ericsson joint venture and integrating the thin modems business into Ericsson; since 2013 he also serves as Chairman of Business Unit Modems.
Nokia Promotes Networks Head Rajeev Suri as CEO
Nokia named Rajeev Suri, 46, as CEO, replacing Risto Siilasmaa, 47, who had served as the interim CEO since Microsoft’s acquisition of Nokia's handset division last September. Siilasmaa also serves as Nokia's chairman. He assumed the interim CEO role when Stephen Elop, 50, joined Microsoft as head of its devices group.
Newly appointed CEO Suri is the head of the Nokia Solutions and Networks division (previously known as Nokia Siemens Networks), since 2009. He headed the Services Division of Nokia Siemens Networks from 2007 until 2009 from India, and served as its Head of Asia Pacific in 2007 for few months. He served in various role at Nokia Networks like - SVP, Nokia Networks Asia Pacific; VP, Hutchison Customer Business Team; GM, BD, Asia Pacific; Sales Director of BT, O2 and Hutchison Global Customers; Director of Technology and Applications for BT Global Customer; Head of Global Competitive Intelligence; Head of Product Competence Center, South Asia; and System Marketing Manager form Cellular Transmission, India. He joined the company in 1995.
Before Nokia, Suri served as Head of Group Procurement for imports and special projects at Churchgate Group, Nigeria; National Account Manager for Transmission/Manager of Strategic Planning at ICL India (ICIM); handled corporate business development for new Ventures and strategic planning at RPG Group and was Production Engineer at Calcom Electronics starting 1989.
Nokia has three businesses left after the handset division sale: the networks division, maps business, and the unit responsible for licensing its patents.
Harris Corporation’s CEO Adds on Chair Role; Former Independent Chair Named Lead Director
Harris Corporation appoints President and CEO William M. Brown, 50, in the additional capacity of chairman. Prior to joining Harris in November 2011, Brown was SVP, Corporate Strategy and Development, of United Technologies. Earlier, he served as President of UTC’s Fire & Security Division, and held U.S. and international roles at various divisions, including Carrier Corporation’s Asia Pacific Operations and the Carrier Transicold division. Before joining UTC in 1997, he worked for McKinsey as a senior engagement manager. He began his career as a project engineer at Air Products and Chemicals.
Brown succeeds Thomas A. Dattilo, 62, who has served as non-executive chairman since January 2012. Dattilo has been named as lead independent director. He is also an advisor and consultant to various private investment firms. He served as a Senior Advisor for Cerberus Operations and Advisory Company, an unit of Cerberus Capital Management. Dattilo was most recently Chairman, President and CEO of Cooper Tire & Rubber Company. Prior to joining Cooper, he held senior positions with Dana Corporation. His last position with Dana was President of its sealing products group.

Provider of managed network services tw telecom nominates Irene M. Esteves, 55, former CFO of Time Warner Cable, to board. Besides Time Warner Cable, Estevesis previously served as CFO of XL Group plc and Regions Financial Corporation and on the boards of Timberland Co. and Johnson Diversey.
Brocade Appoints Former Cisco and Juniper Regional Exec as APAC CTO
Supplier of networking equipment Brocade appointed Matt Kolon to the role of CTO for Asia Pacific, based in Beijing, China. Kolon was most recently the APAC managing director for Evolved Programmable Network business and CTO for Service Providers at Cisco. Prior to Cisco, he spent 12 years at Juniper Networks, holding various executive roles in customer service, sales and marketing, and systems engineering.
Facebook CIO Joins Board of JDS Uniphase
JDS Uniphase, the optical communications networking products company, appointed Tim Campos to its Board. Currently the CIO of Facebook, Campos has more than 22 years of industry experience. Prior to Facebook, Campos served as the CIO and VP of IT at KLA-Tencor and earlier was responsible for overseeing Engineering and the hosting architecture at Portera Systems.
Polycom Promotes CISO to CIO
Polycom, the provider of unified communications solutions, promoted its VP of IT and CISO Scott McCool to the role of Group VP of IT and CIO. Prior to joining Polycom in 2013, McCool directed global infrastructure engineering at Brocade, launching innovative designs and leveraging Brocade IP, storage networking and software-defined networking (SDN) solutions.
