Pfizer Appoints Adobe CEO to Board

Pfizer elected Shantanu Narayen, 50, to serve as a member of the Board. Narayen is president and CEO of Adobe. Prior to his appointment as CEO in 2007, Narayen was Adobe’s president and COO. Previously, he held key product research and development positions within Adobe, including EVP of worldwide products, SVP of worldwide product development, and VP and general manager of the engineering technology group. Before joining Adobe in 1998, he was a co-founder of Pictra, an early pioneer of digital photo sharing over the Internet. Prior to that, he served as director of desktop and collaboration products at Silicon Graphics, and held various senior management positions at Apple Computer.

 

Outside of Adobe, Narayen also serves on the Advisory Board of the Haas School of Business and is president of the board of the Adobe Foundation which funds philanthropic initiatives around the world.

SAP Co-CEO to Join Siemens Supervisory Board

Jim Hagemann Snabe, 48, currently the co-CEO of SAP, will be appointed as member of the Supervisory Board. He succeeds Deputy Chairman Josef Ackermann, who is leaving the Supervisory Board. Snabe will be leaving SAP’s executive board, therefore stepping down from the CEO position in near future. In 2010, SAP co-CEOs Snabe and Bill McDermott took over as SAP's leaders from long-time CEO Leo Apotheker. Snabe has overseen the growth of SAP's business that included acquisitions of SuccessFactors, Sybase and Ariba and the release of the HANA in-memory database platform. He has been with the company for more than 20 years, holding various management positions in sales and development, including Managing Director of the SAP Nordic region and General Manager for industry solutions development globally. Snabe has worked for SAP since 1990, excluding a stint at IBM Denmark from 1994 to 1996. He has served on the Board of Mannaz A/S until 2009 and on the Supervisory Board of Crossgate AG until 2010. He is Member of the Board of Linkage A/S and Thrane & Thrane A/S.

Energy Giant Appoints Former CIO of ConocoPhillips as New Board Member

Occidental Petroleum appointed Gene L. Batchelder, 66, former Chief Administrative Officer and CIO at ConocoPhillips Company, has been elected to its Board of Directors. Batchelder joined Phillips Petroleum in 1972. He was named President of Phillips Driscopipe, and Finance Manager of GPM Gas Co. in 1994. He was Conoco's SVP, Services and CIO from 2002 to 2009, when he was promoted to SVP and Chief Administrative Officer. He retired from Conoco in 2012.

Former Akamai President Joins Best Buy’s Board

Best Buy appointed David Kenny to its Board of Directors. Kenny is the Chairman and CEO of The Weather Company (TWC), the leading provider of weather forecasts and information. Immediately prior to TWC he was the President of Akamai, a leading cloud platform designed to help enterprises provide secure, high-performing user experiences to mobile and fixed internet users. Kenny founded Digitas in 1997 and sold the company to Publicis Groupe in 2006. He was the Managing Partner of the combined business, Viva-Ki, until 2010.  Kenny also served on the Board of Directors of Yahoo from 2010 to 2012.

Time Warner Cable’s Future CEO and Current COO Joins Board of Credit Reporting Company

Consumer credit reporting company Equifax elects Robert D. Marcus, 48, to its Board of the Directors. Marcus is President and COO and a director of Time Warner Cable and has been announced to become the next Chairman and CEO from beginning of next year. He currently oversees Residential Services, Business Services, Media Services, and Technology and Network Operations. Marcus was Senior EVP and CFO of TWC and orchestrated the company's spinoff from Time Warner in 2009, its move to a publicly traded company in 2007, and several key acquisitions and mergers that expanded its footprint and services. He joined TWC in 2005 as Senior EVP, overseeing corporate groups including mergers and acquisitions, business affairs, programming and human resources. Before that, Marcus held various positions at Time Warner, including SVP of Mergers and Acquisitions. Previously, he practiced law at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, where TWC was his client.

Experienced Emerging Technologies and Ecommerce Exec from Fin-Serv Industry Joins Global Payments’ Board

Global Payments, a payment processing services company, elected John M. Partridge to its Board of Directors. Partridge most recently served as president of Visa, where he managed marketing, product, client service support, processing and technology. Prior to being named president, he served as COO and led efforts to transform Visa from a membership association owned by financial institutions into a global, publicly-traded company. Before joining Visa, Partridge served as the first president and CEO of Inovant, the company that owns and operates Visa's electronic payment processing service. He led major efforts to diversify Inovant's corporate footprint, create new centers of excellence for emerging technologies and ecommerce, and examine alternative processing approaches for the global marketplace.

Former Verizon Exec Joins Board of Bank Holding Company

Popular appointed John W. Diercksen, 64, to the Board of Directors. Diercksen was EVP of Verizon Communications until September 2013. Diercksen was responsible for key strategic initiatives related to the review and assessment of potential mergers, acquisitions and divestitures. Earlier he was EVP, Strategy, Development, and Planning for Verizon. Diercksen held a series of increasingly senior financial and leadership roles with Verizon, Bell Atlantic, and Nynex, among others.
