Symantec Nominates Two New Directors
Symantec nominated Major General Suzanne Vautrinot, soon to retire as head of the Air Force component of the U.S. Cyber Command, and Anita Sands, who will be leaving UBS Wealth Management Americas after serving in several top positions, to board.
Previously, Vautrinot was special assistant, vice chief of staff of the Air Force; director of plans and policy, U.S. Cyber Command, Fort George G. Meade, Md.; and deputy commander, Joint Functional Component Command - Network Warfare, U.S. Strategic Command, Fort George G. Meade.
Sands is the Head of WMA Change Leadership and a Group Managing Director at UBS Wealth Management Americas (WMA), where she oversees a team of 2,000 technology and operations staff. The former COO is currently a member of the WMA Operating Committee. Sands has held a number of important roles, including Head of Transformational Management, Operations & Technology at Citigroup; Head of Innovation and Process Design at the Royal Bank of; Director of CIBC Treasury at CIBC; and Executive Director of Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Industry Center.
CSC Elects Seasoned McKinsey Exec as New Board Member
CSC elected new board members, Nancy Killefer, 59. Killefer, a senior partner at McKinsey, who will be retiring at the end of the month, had joined McKinsey in 1979. She founded and led its public sector practice. From 1997 to 2000, Killefer served as assistant secretary for management and CFO for the U.S. Department of Treasury.
Xerox’s Senior Exec Joins as New Director of IDEXX
IDEXX Laboratories, the global market leader in diagnostics and IT solutions for animal health, elected Sophie V. Vandebroek, PhD., 51, as a member of the Company's Board of Directors. Vandebroek has been an executive with Xerox since 2002. Most recently, she has been serving as Xerox's CTO and Corporate VP, as well as President of the Xerox Innovation Group since 2006. She is responsible for overseeing Xerox's research centers in Europe, Asia, Canada and the US as well as the Palo Alto Research Center. Prior to her current positions, from 2002 to 2005, he was Chief Engineer of Xerox and VP of the Xerox Engineering Center.
Retired Verizon EVP Joins Frontier Communications’ Board
Frontier Communications, the communications company that provides voice, data, Internet, and television services and products, elected Virginia P. Ruesterholz, former President of Verizon Services Operations, to its Board of Directors. Ruesterholz retired as EVP of Verizon Communications where she was responsible for overseeing key strategic initiatives. She previously served as President of Verizon Services Operations, President of Verizon Telecom, President of Verizon Partner Solutions, President of Verizon Wholesale Markets and held roles in regional operations and operations assurance.
Leading Internet Radio Service Company Elects Former Macromedia and HP Exec as Board Member
Pandora elected Elizabeth A. "Betsey" Nelson to the board of directors. Nelson has served on multiple boards of technology companies. She currently serves on the boards of Nokia and Brightcove. Other public company board experience includes serving as a director of Ancestry.com, SuccessFactors, Autodesk, and CNET Networks. Nelson served as the EVP and CFO at Macromedia, where she also served as a director. Prior to joining Macromedia, Nelson held various roles in finance and corporate development at Hewlett-Packard.
Sonus Networks Appoints Recognized Networking Industry Professional to Board
Sonus Networks, provider of networked solutions for communications service providers, appointed Pamela Reeve to its board of directors, to help accelerate the company's ambition to lead the global session border controller (SBC) growth category. From 1989 to 2004, Reeve was the president and CEO and a director of Lightbridge, a global provider of mobile business solutions, offering products and services for the wireless communications industry. Prior to joining Lightbridge in 1989, Reeve spent eleven years as a consultant and operations executive at Boston Consulting Group. In 2011 she was appointed by Governor Patrick to the board of the Massachusetts Technology Collaborative. Reeve was the founding CEO of opennairboston.net, the Boston wireless initiative.
