AT&T Appoints Oil States International’s CEO to Board

AT&T has appointed Cindy B. Taylor, 51, to its board of directors. Taylor is president, CEO and a director of Oil States International, a diversified solutions and services provider for the oil and gas industry. Taylor served as Oil States' president and COO from 2006 to 2007 and as its SVP-CFO and treasurer from 2000 to 2006. Previously, she worked in public accounting for Ernst & Young and in senior finance positions with other energy industry companies. Taylor is also a director of Tidewater. She previously served as a director of Global Industries.

EMC Appoints Former Accenture Chair and CEO to Board

EMC appointed William D. Green, 59, to its Board. Green is the former Chairman of Accenture. From 2006 until his retirement in February 2013, Green served as Chairman of Accenture. From 2004 through 2010, he served as Accenture's CEO. Green joined Accenture in 1977 and became a partner in 1986. Green has been a Director of McGraw-Hill Financial since 2011.

Dell Board Member Passes Away

Dell board member William H. Gray III, public servant, human rights activist, spiritual leader and business advisor passes away. Gray served on the Dell Board since year 2000. He presided over a period of rapid growth as the company expanded globally and embarked on a multi-year transformation into an end-to-end solutions provider. During his nearly 13 years of service as a member of the Dell Board of Directors, Gray contributed to Dell’s success in countless ways and helped shape the strategies that have allowed Dell to develop and deliver the very best in technology solutions to its customers.

Infosys Re-Appoints Former Chair/CEO as Board Chair

India-based software services company Infosys appointed N. R. Narayana Murthy, 66, as Executive Chairman of the Board and Additional Director. Murthy served as Company's CEO for 20 years between 1981 and 2002, and as the Executive Chairperson of Company's Board from 2002 to 2006. Murthy also serves as a director on the boards of Infosys China, Infosys Consulting, HSBC Holdings. Murthy is a member of the advisory boards and councils of several educational and philanthropic institutions, including Cornell University; Ford Foundation; INSEAD; Indian Institute of Management Technology, Bangalore; Indian School of Business, Hyderabad; Singapore Management University; United Nations Foundation; and the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering and a foreign member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering. Murthy has been conferred with the title of CBE by the British government.

K. V. Kamath would step down from his position as Chairman of the Board and take up the position of Lead Independent Director.

Former Thomson Reuters CFO is New Board Member of Citrix Systems

Citrix Systems, the company that provides server and desktop virtualization, networking, SaaS and cloud computing technologies, added former Thomson Reuters CFO and Vice Chairman Robert (Bob) D. Daleo to the board. Daleo held the COO of Thomson Newspapers position, and served in a number of financial and operations positions at McGraw-Hill and Automatic Data Processing before joining Thomson. He is a director at Equifax and chairs the Fordham University board of trustees.

Akamai Appoints Former American Airlines CIO to Board

Akamai Technologies announced the election of Monte E. Ford, 53, to its Board of Directors. Widely regarded as a leader in the field of IT, Ford has been recognized as one of the '50 Smartest People in Technology' by Fortune magazine for his transformative leadership and progressive thinking as a CIO. He has served as CEO of Aptean Software and CIO of AMR Corporation and Associates First Capital. At Aptean, Ford was responsible for all aspects of the company's business. At American Airlines, his duties included AMR's IT services (ITS) group, Operations Research and the airline's award-winning web site, AA.com. Ford has held executive management positions with The Associates First Capital Corporation, Bank of Boston and Digital Equipment Corporation. He has served as a director of several institutions, as well as on the Research Board and CIO Strategy Exchange. As one of the first inductees to the CIO Hall of Fame by CIO Magazine, Ford has been a frequent guest writer for major technology publications on topics such as the future of the technology workforce, vendor relationship management and the role of the CIO.

Allscripts Adds Two Directors to Board

Allscripts added two new members, Anita Pramoda and Michael Klayko, to board. Anita Pramoda was recently the CFO of Epic Systems. Prior to Epic, Pramoda helped commercialize self-healing packaging technology into wholesale, retail, and military sectors at Ontech. Pramoda is the co-founder of TangramCare, a technology-enabled care delivery system that affords extremely sick patients an opportunity to receive care in their homes, recover comfortably, and convalesce with dignity. She is also an executive advisor at Technology Crossover Ventures, a leading VC firm.

Michael Klayko joins Allscripts from Brocade Communications where he served as CEO from 2005 until January 2013. Klayko joined Brocade in 2003 as CEO following the acquisition of Rhapsody Networks, where he was also the CEO the prior two years. Klayko also served in numerous other senior leadership roles throughout his career, including EVP of Sales & Marketing for McData, and SVP of Sales for EMC. Klayko began his career at IBM where he spent a decade of his career performing multiple assignments and management roles.

ExactTarget Board Member with PE Background Leaves

Michael Brown, 39, will not stand for re-election to the board of ExactTarget, the digital marketing software firm. Brown has been a General Partner of Battery Ventures, a private equity and venture capital firm focused on technology companies, which he initially joined in 1998. He currently serves on the boards of several privately-held companies, including Digby Technology, Bluestem Brands and TradeKing Group. Brown was previously a member of the High Technology Group at Goldman, Sachs & Co., from 1996 to 1998 and worked as a Financial Analyst within Goldman’s Financial Institutions Group between 1994 and 1996.

Mellanox Names Lead Director as Chairman

Mellanox Technologies, the fabless semiconductor company that produces and supplies interconnect products that facilitate data transmission between servers, storage systems and communications infrastructure equipment, named Irwin Federman, 76, as non-executive chairman. He has served as a member of Mellanox's Board since its inception in 1999, and is currently the company's lead director. Federman has been a general partner of U.S. Venture Partners, a venture capital firm, since 1990. Before that, he was a managing director of Dillon Read & Co. and a general partner in its venture capital affiliate, Concord Partners. Federman served as president and CEO of Monolithic Memories, which was acquired by AMD in 1987.

Logitech Announces Retirement of Director

Logitech International, provider of personal peripherals for computers and other digital platforms, announced that board member Erh-Hsun Chang will retire, and will not seek re-election to the Logitech board of directors. Chang has served on the Logitech board of directors since 2006 and was previously on the company’s management team from 1995 to 2006, having served earlier with the company from 1986 to 1988.

Orbitz Worldwide Appoints Rightmove Chairman to Board

Online travel company Orbitz Worldwide appointed Scott Forbes to its board of directors. Scott joins the Orbitz board following the resignation of Jill Greenthal. Scott currently serves as chairman of Rightmove plc, the UK's leading online classified property portal. From 1990 to 2005, Scott held several senior level positions at Cendant Corporation and its predecessor HFS, which was a leading global provider of travel and residential real estate services, operating in more than 100 countries. He established Cendant's international headquarters in 1999 and was Cendant's CEO for EMEA and Asia. During his tenure as group managing director, Scott led and/or participated in over 45 acquisitions and divestiture transactions and had additional portfolio responsibilities for non-travel and non-real estate related companies such as National Car Parks, Green Flag and Cims (loyalty marketing). He also led Cendant's strategic entry into the vacation rental sector. Prior to 1999, Scott was SEVP for finance, responsible for financial operations and the operational integration of acquired businesses.

M*Modal Announces Board Changes

M*Modal, a leading provider of clinical documentation and speech understanding solutions, appointed Duncan W. James as CEO and a member of M*Modal’s Board of Directors, replacing Vern Davenport, who has chosen to leave the company. The Company also expanded its leadership team, naming Graham O. King as its new Chairman of the Board.

Prior to leading QuadraMed, James was Group President at McKesson Corporation for nearly a decade. He has more than 25 years of experience in the healthcare information and technology industries, including domestic and international operations, strategic planning, sales and marketing, and product management.

M*Modal’s new Chairman of the Board Graham King is a long-time healthcare industry leader and strategic consultant, formerly head of the two largest healthcare information technology companies in the world, Share Medical Systems (now part of Siemens) and HBOC (now part of McKesson). He has also served as a director on the boards of seven companies, most of which were publicly owned and technology based across industries such as healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, real estate, and retail.

Retired Verizon Finance Exec Joins as Director of ARRIS Group

Telecommunications equipment manufacturing company ARRIS Group appointed Doreen Toben to the Board of Directors of the Company. Toben most recently served as executive vice president of Verizon Communications, from February 2009 until her retirement in June 2009. From April 2002 to February 2009, she served as the CFO of Verizon responsible for its finance and strategic planning efforts. Prior to April 2002, Toben was SVP and CFO for Verizon's Telecom Group. Toben is a 30-year telecommunications veteran. She began her career at AT&T and over the years held various of positions of increasing responsibility primarily in treasury, strategic planning and finance both there, and beginning in 1984 at Bell Atlantic. Toben is also a member of the board of directors of Fifth & Pacific Companies (formerly Liz Claiborne), and The New York Times Company.
