Microchip Technology's Investor Relations & BD Leader Retires

Gordon Parnell, Vice President of Investor Relations and Business Development of Microchip Technology, a leading provider of microcontroller, mixed-signal, analog and Flash-IP solutions, will retire. Gordon was a long-time CFO of Microchip, and in 2009, moved to a role of IR and Business Development. He has many long-term relationships with Microchip's investors and analysts. Under Gordon's watch, Microchip completed 10 acquisitions in the last four years, including two large acquisitions - Silicon Storage Technology in 2010 and SMSC in 2012.

Frontier Communications Names Former GE Capital and Gartner Exec as CFO

Frontier Communications has appointed John M. Jureller as EVP and CFO. He was SVP, Finance and Operations for the Resources Group of General Atlantic, a global growth private equity firm managing $17 billion around the globe. Before this, he was CFO of WestPoint International. From 2003 through 2006, he was a member of the Corporate Turnaround & Restructuring practice of AlixPartners. His responsibilities gave him wide exposure to telecommunications, including cable, wireless and internet services. Previously, he was CFO of Trans-Resources; SVP, Corporate Development at Gartner; and SVP, Finance and Corporate Development at Caribiner International. Early in his career, he held increasingly senior financial roles at PepsiCo World Trading Company, Emcor Group, and GE Capital. He began his career in finance at Bankers Trust Company.

Chief Sales and Marketing Officer of Freescale Semiconductor to Retire

Henri Richard, 52, SVP, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer for Freescale Semiconductor, has decided to retire from the Company. Mr. Richard has agreed to remain at the Company during a transition period that will continue through September, 2013. The Company has initiated a process to identify his replacement.

Riverbed Technology Appoints Board Members and CFO

Riverbed Technology, the technology company that specializes in improving the performance of networks and networked applications, appointed Satya Nadella, 44, to its board of directors. He currently serves as president of Microsoft’s Server and Tools Business (STB), that builds and runs the company's computing platforms, developer tools, and cloud services. Prior to STB, Nadella was SVP of R&D for the Online Services Division, which includes the Search (Bing), Portal (MSN), and Advertising platforms, where he was responsible for some of the largest cloud infrastructure in the world. Prior to the Online Services Division, Nadella led Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS), which develops and markets the Microsoft Dynamics line of ERP and CRM products. Before joining Microsoft, Nadella was a member of the technology staff at Sun Microsystems.

Riverbed Technology named Kimberly Stevenson to its board of directors. She currently serves as VP and CIO of Intel where she is responsible for the corporate-wide use of IT. Previously, Stevenson was VP and general manager of Intel's Global IT Operations and Services where she led both the strategic and tactical support of Intel's world-wide infrastructure components, including data centers, network and telecommunications, enterprise application support, client computing, and a 24/7 internal service desk. Prior to joining Intel, Stevenson spent seven years at the former EDS, now HP Enterprise Services, holding a variety of positions, including VP of Worldwide Communications, Media and Entertainment (CM&E) Industry Practice, and VP of Enterprise Service Management. Before joining EDS, Stevenson spent 18 years at IBM holding several executive positions, including VP of Marketing and Operations of the eServer iSeries division.

The company appointed Ernie Maddock, currently CFO at Lam Research, to the position of CFO. He replaces COO and CFO Randy Gottfried, who will be retiring from Riverbed. Maddock has been with Lam Research for more than fifteen years, helping grow the company into a multi-billion dollar leader in the semiconductor capital equipment industry. While at Lam Research, in addition to his CFO role, Maddock held senior roles as VP of customer support and VP of global operations. Prior to Lam Research, Maddock held a variety of senior financial and operational positions at NCR.

AMD Appoints Legal Eagle Board

AMD appointed Martin Edelman to the company’s board of directors as a representative of West Coast Hitech, an affiliate of Mubadala Development Company and AMD’s largest stockholder. Edelman’s appointment follows the resignation of Waleed al Muhairi after four years of service on the AMD Board. Edelman currently serves as Of Counsel, Real Estate Department for the law firm Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, a New York City law firm where he is responsible for real estate transactions as well as corporate mergers and acquisitions. He serves as a member of the board of directors at Avis Budget Group, Ashford Hospitality Trust and Capital Trust. Edelman is also a senior advisor to Mubadala Development Company, a strategic investment and development company headquartered in Abu Dhabi. He brings an extensive legal background to the board, with more than 40 years of experience in the legal profession. He also holds a number of board positions for charitable organizations including Manchester City Football Club Charitable, The Intrepid Museum Foundation, Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, Fisher House Foundation, Tribeca Film Institute, Jackie Robinson Foundation and the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.

Separately, Craig A. Conway, a member of the company’s board of directors since 2009, has decided to not stand for re-election, in order to focus on his other business and personal interests

Ubiquiti Networks Names CFO

Ubiquiti Networks, a next-generation communications technology company, named Craig Foster as CFO. Mr. Foster joins Ubiquiti from Credit Suisse where he served as a director in the investment banking group focused on technology infrastructure and software from 2012 to early 2013. From 2007 to 2012, he worked at UBS investment bank as an Executive Director, and most recently as the co-head of the software group. During his investment banking career he completed over $6 billion of investment banking transactions, including the IPO of Ubiquiti Networks in 2011. Prior to banking, he was an early employee of Loudcloud, and held a number of management positions in product management, business development and finance. He also held various positions at RBC Capital Markets, Open Market, Deloitte Consulting, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers.

Qualstar Announces Resignation of CFO

Qualstar, a manufacturer of data storage solutions and high-efficiency power supplies, announced that Nidhi H. Andalon has resigned as VP and CFO, to pursue other opportunities. Having been with Qualstar for 10 years, she served in various financial roles before becoming CFO in 2009. Ms. Andalon will remain at Qualstar to ensure an orderly transition. Qualstar has begun a search for a new CFO and is in the process of identifying candidates. In the meantime, Qualstar's finance group will be managed by Neal Carver, who has held senior corporate finance and controller roles in public and private technology companies for more than 20 years. Most recently, he was Corporate Controller for Applied Films Corporation until it was acquired by Applied Materials in 2006 and continued on as Operations Controller for Applied Materials, from 2006 until 2012.

X-IO Technologies Promotes Product Management Leader to VP, Marketing

Storage industry innovator, X-IO Technologies, promoted Blair Parkhill, to VP, Marketing. Parkhill joined the technical marketing team at X-IO in 2010 and quickly advanced to the role of Director of Product Management and Product Marketing. Prior to his position with X-IO, Parkhill served in technical and management positions with Compaq and Hewlett-Packard, responsible for testing and delivering application-focused solutions through outbound marketing collateral, training, and public speaking at industry events. As Vice President of Marketing at X-IO, Parkhill will oversee marketing operations, product management, alliances and analyst relations while guiding the definition and demonstration of X-IO's vision.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
