From 2004 until 2012, Bergeron was a venture partner at Trident Capital. She currently serves on the board of Qualys, Sophos, and TraceSecurity - where she also serves as chairman. Bergeron previously served on the board of TriCipher, a secure access management company acquired by VMware in 2010 and ArcSight, a security and compliance management company acquired by HP in 2010. During her tenure at McAfee, Bergeron held a wide range of executive leadership positions in sales, R&D, and corporate development.
Prior to joining Equinix in 2007, Smith served as SVP at HP Services, a business segment of HP. Prior to that, he served as VP of Global Professional and Managed Services at Lucent Technologies. Smith also held various management and sales positions during his 17 years with EDS, including Chief Sales Officer, President of EDS Asia-Pacific, and President of EDS Western Region. Smith serves on the board of Volterra Semiconductor. He previously served as a director of 3PAR, acquired by HP.
AMD Appoints iCFO to Permanent Role of CFO
AMD appointed interim CFO Devinder Kumar, 57, to the full time role of SVP and CFO. Kumar, has been interim CFO since September 2012 following the departure of Thomas Seifert, will be responsible for leading the company’s global finance organization. A 28-year veteran of the chip company, Kumar previously served as Corporate Controller at AMD since 2001 and as SVP since 2006.
Nokia Siemens Networks Restructures Geographic Units; Names Leaders
Nokia Siemens Networks is bringing together its business in the Middle East and Africa into a new, single, regional organization structure covering the Middle East & Africa (MEA). Igor Leprince, who was leading the company’s business in the Middle East, has assumed the role of head of MEA. With this change, Nokia Siemens Networks is expanding its Asia and Middle East regional cluster to include business in Africa. Continuing under the leadership of executive board member Ashish Chowdhary, the new Asia, Middle East & Africa cluster (AMEA) will manage the company’s customer operations in MEA, India, Asia Pacific, Greater China and Japan.
EVault Appoints APAC Region Head
EVault, a Seagate Company named Paul Hartzell as VP for the APAC region. Prior to joining EVault, Hartzell was the SVP and founder of Merrill’s DataSite division where he built the global sales organization for the company's virtual data room (VDR), which houses critical business information for mergers and acquisitions. Hartzell served as VP of sales for PostX, an enterprise email encryption business and spent 15 years in the financial services industry as a top sales person for three different companies. He was also a Major League Baseball pitcher, having played six seasons with the California Angels (1976-1978), Minnesota Twins (1979), Baltimore Orioles (1980) and Milwaukee Brewers (1984).
Intersil Names iCEO and Chair
Chip maker Intersil has appointed board member, James Diller, 76, as interim president and CEO, following Dave Bell's, 55, resignation as president and CEO and a director of the company. Diller, who has been the company's board member since 2002, has significant expertise in the semiconductor industry, having served as CEO of two public companies, including Elantec Semiconductor and PMC-Sierra, of which he was a founder.
Further, Intersil named Donald Macleod, 63, as Chairman with immediate effect. Gary Gist, 65, the company's former Chairman, has stepped down from that position and would remain a board member. A member of Intersil's Board of Directors since 2012, Macleod brings to his new role as Chairman of the Board more than 30 years of industry experience in both the US and Europe and proven business and financial acumen. Notably, he served as Chairman, President and CEO of National Semiconductor from 2009 until its acquisition by Texas Instruments in 2011. Previously, he served in a variety of executive positions at National Semiconductor Corporation, including COO and CFO.
Portable Storage Company Appoints Co-CEOs
Mobile Mini has appointed Board members Frederick G. McNamee, III, 55, and Lawrence Trachtenberg, 56, as Interim Co-CEOs of the Company, following Steven G. Bunger's departure from the Company. Messrs. McNamee and Trachtenberg will serve in such positions until the Company completes the process of hiring a permanent CEO.
Frederick G. McNamee, III, has served as a director of the Board since 2008. He has been a principal of Quadrus Consulting, a consulting practice primarily focused in the manufacturing operations and strategic planning domains, since 2000. He served as the Chairman, President and CEO of Continental Circuits, which manufactured complex, multi-layer circuit Boards used in electronic equipment intended for the computer, communications, instrumentation and industrial controls industries. Following the acquisition of Continental Circuits by Hadco in 1998, he served as Hadco's interim CTO and SVP in charge of operations in Malaysia and Phoenix.
Lawrence Trachtenberg previously served as Mobile Mini’s EVP, CFO, General Counsel, Secretary and Treasurer. He retired in 2008 and continued to serve Mobile Mini thereafter as a non-officer employee until February, 2012.
Exar Sees CFO Replacement
Ryan A. Benton, 42, will join the Company as SVP and CFO at networking and storage integrated circuits company, Exar. Mr. Benton replaces Kevin S. Bauer, 49, who has been terminated. Mr. Benton most recently served CFO of SynapSense, a private venture backed company serving the Data Center Infrastructure Management market. Prior to SynapSense, he was CFO of SoloPower, a thin film CIGS photovoltaic provider. He served as a financial consultant for ASM International, a semiconductor capital equipment company, where he supported acquisitions and integration process. He was CFO for PB Unlimited, an advertising specialty manufacturer. Also, he served as corporate controller at eFunds.
PLX Technology Appoints iCEO as CEO
PLX has named David K. Raun, 50, as its President and CEO. Mr. Raun had previously been identified by the board in its succession planning, was serving as interim president and CEO. Prior to Raun's appointment as interim President and CEO, he served as the company's EVP and General Manager of Product Lines. Prior to that, he was VP, Marketing and Business Development and VP, Marketing. Prior to joining PLX, he was VP of Marketing at Pericom Semiconductor, EVP & General Manager at Actovate, a technology-based marketing company, VP of PSD & Memory Products at Waferscale Integration. He held various sales, sales management, and marketing positions at AMD earlier in his career.
SolidFire Bolsters Exec Team
Solid state storage developer SolidFire has installed a trio of executives, as it builds out its executive team. It has named RJ Weigel as President, John Hillyard as CFO and Tim Pitcher as VP of SolidFire International.
RJ Weigel joins the SolidFire team with over 20 years of experience in accelerating and scaling high tech companies. He comes to SolidFire from HP where he served as VP for Americas Global Accounts-Enterprise Storage Organization. He joined HP after its acquisition of 3PAR where he was Worldwide VP of Sales and Field Operations. Prior to 3PAR, RJ served as Area VP for NetApp, and spent many years at Cisco as they established routers and ethernet switching technology within service provider and enterprise customers.
John Hillyard comes to the team as an experienced technology executive bringing over twenty-five years of financial and operations experience in public and ventured backed companies. He has an extensive international background with a strong track record in high growth companies serving as CFO of DataLogix, CFO of LeftHand Networks and CFO of FrontRange Solutions.
Tim Pitcher also joins the team with significant international experience. He most recently served as Senior Director of Global Account Storage at HP after its acquisition of 3PAR where his primary responsibilities included retaining 3PAR customers and leading HP global storage growth. Previous to HP, Mr. Pitcher was VP of 3PAR where he focused on the rapid growth of customers, channel base and strategic service providers in EMEA and Asia.
