Jon Correio, VP of Finance/Administration and Director of the wireless modem products company, is resigning by end of this year. Mr. Correio has served as VP of Finance since 2002, and has been with the Company for almost two decades.
Emulex’s co-founder and current Chairman Emeritus not to Seek Re-Election to Board
Emulex’s co-founder and current Chairman Emeritus, Fred Cox , 77, will not seek re-election to the Board after more than 34 years of service to the network convergence solutions company. He served as Emulex's CEO for more than 12 years, from the company's inception until he retired from active management in 1990. Cox then served as Emulex's non-executive chairman for an additional eight years. His planned retirement from the Board in November will mark 34 years of continuous service to the company.
Black Box Names Future CEO
Black Box, the voice communications and data infrastructure compan, has appointed Michael McAndrew, 52, as President and CEO, effective April 1, 2013. He is currently the Company's EVP, CFO, Secretary and Treasurer. In order to ensure a smooth transition, R. Terry Blakemore, President and CEO, will continue in those positions until March 2013 and then join the Board. Mr. McAndrew was promoted to EVP in 2010. He had previously been promoted to the position of VP and CFO in 2002. He became Secretary and Treasurer in 2003. He was Manager of Corporate Planning and Analysis prior to that.
CTO Resigns from Wireless Network Infrastructure Company
Niels Jonker, 39, long time CTO of the wireless network infrastructure company Boingo Wireless, resigned from his position. Mr. Jonker has agreed to enter into a consulting agreement with the Company on an ongoing basis to provide strategic technology services to the Company. Prior to joining Boingo, he served as Chief Network Architect of EarthLink. Before that, he also served as Director, Systems and Aervices of OneMain, which was acquired by EarthLink. Prior to OneMain, he founded and built US Internet, a successful regional ISP servicing the south-eastern US. In addition, he is the co-author of A Guide to Operating Systems (Course Technologies).
InterNAP Network Services Promotes Operations Exec
InterNAP Network Services, provider of IT infrastructure to data centers, promoted SVP, Operations & Support, Steven A. Orchard, 40, to SVP, Development and Operations. Mr. Orchard originally joined the Company in 1999 and has previously served as Senior Manager, IP Operations; Director, Network Operations and VP, Network Operations. Prior to joining the Company, he held systems positions with Codesic and Oasis Systems.
Exar Hires Head of Sales from Conexant
Exar Corporation, the semiconductor company thats sells software and subsystem solutions for industrial, telecom, networking and storage applications, names Steve Bakos as SVP, Sales and Marketing reporting to company president and CEO Louis DiNardo. He will replace Chris Dingley who previously served as VP of Worldwide Sales. Prior to joining Exar Corporation, he served as VP of Worldwide Sales at Conexant Corporation. Mr. Bakos has held executive sales and marketing positions at SiTime, a privately held manufacturer of MEMS devices; Active Semiconductor, a privately held power management company, as well as Intersil, Xicor, Linear Technology and National Semiconductor.
Storage and Data Security Company brings in Corporate Development and M&A Expert
Imation, the storage and data security company, named Richard (Dick) B. Parran Jr. as VP of Corporate Development. Parran, a 30-year telecommunications veteran and experienced corporate development executive, will oversee Imation's corporate development function, including the Company's mergers and acquisition (M&A) strategy. Parran most recently served as President, Network Solutions, for ADC, a supplier of telecoms network infrastructure products and services. Prior to that, he was VP of Corporate Business Development, responsible for all merger, acquisition, divestiture, and venture capital investment activity. Before ADC, he held general management, marketing and corporate development positions with Paragon Business Systems, Showtime Networks and Centel Corporation.
Wireless Networking Company Names Long Timer as Chief Sales Officer
Aviat Networks, the wireless networking company, appointed Heinz Stumpe, 56, as SVP and Chief Sales Officer. In his new role, Mr. Stumpe will be responsible for global sales and professional services. He joined Aviat as a Director Of Marketing in 1996 and has more than 20 years of experience in wireless transmission technology. Before his appointment as Chief Sales Officer, he was the SVP and COO and held a variety of roles including VP of strategic accounts, product line management and business development. Previously, he worked for California Microwave as VP, product management and was director, operations for Amstrad, a UK-based computer and communications equipment company.
Network Device Management Solutions Company Names New Directors
Lantronix appointed Paul F. Folino, 67, as a member of the Board. He currently serves as a director of Emulex and previously served as it’s Executive Chairman and CEO. Prior to joining Emulex, he served as President and CEO of Thomas-Conrad Corporation, a manufacturer of local area networking products.
Research in Motion US Sales Exec named Director at Dialogic
Giovani Richard Piasentin, 43, was appointed as an Independent Director of Dialogic’s board while Ming Him (Kenny) Chan resigned. Mr. Piasentin serves as VP and Managing Director, U.S. Sales Marketing and Operations for Research In Motion. Prior to his current position, he served as Research In Motion's Global VP, Commercial Operations. He held positions with Nortel for a 17 year period, most recently that of Global VP, Commercial Operations & Sales Transformation.
Mr. Ming Him (Kenny) Chan who resigned from Dialogic’s board, serves as a Senior Associate at Tennenbaum Capital Partners. He served as a Financial Analyst at UBS Investment Bank's Los Angeles Office before that. He also worked at HSBC Investment Banking in Hong Kong as a Summer Analyst, where he advised Tsingtao Brewery on various strategic alternatives. He is also actively involved as an Instructor for Crossing the Digital Divide.
