Canadian Telecom Company Appoints Community Board Chairman
TELUS has appointed Claude Benoit as Chairman of the TELUS Montreal Community Board. Currently, she serves as the CEO of the Old Port of Montreal Corporation. Before being named CEO, she served as the company’s VP and oversaw the development of the Montreal Science Centre. Benoit is a member of the Order of Canada and has been awarded the McNeil Medal from the Royal Society of Canada.
Network Solutions Company Appoints Two Directors
Level 3 Communications has appointed Steven Terrell Clontz, 60, as a Director. Currently, he serves as the Senior EVP of North America & Europe at Singapore Technologies Telemedia. Before joining ST Telemedia, Clontz was the CEO of StarHub for over a decade. Prior to that, he was the CEO of IPC Information Systems and President of BellSouth Asia/Pacific. Currently, Clontz sits on the board of directors at Equinix and InterDigital.
The company has also selected General Kevin Patrick Chilton, 57, to join the Board of Directors. Most recently, he served as the Commander of the U.S. Strategic Command overseeing operations for the U.S. Department of Defense nuclear, space, and cyberspace operations. Before that, he served as the Commander of Air Force Space Command, where he was responsible for all Air Force space and nuclear ICBM programs. Chilton also served as a NASA astronaut and as the Deputy Program Manager for the International Space Station. Currently, he sits on the Board of Directors at Anadarko Petroleum, Aerospace, and Orbital Sciences.
Chairman & CEO Retires from Freescale Semiconductor
Freescale Semiconductor announced the retirement of Richard Beyer, 62, as Chairman & CEO. Before joining Freescale, he was CEO of Intersil, a company which designs and manufactures high performance analog solutions. Prior to Tersil, he was CEO of Elantec Semiconductor and FVC.com. Earlier in his career, he served as the COO of VLSI and as the EVP & COO of National Semiconductor. In the past, Beyer served on the Board of Directors at Credence Systems.
Former NetApp CFO Joins NetSuite Board
NetSuite, a leading vendor of cloud-based SAS integrated business management software, announced the appointment of Steve Gomo, 59, to its Board of Directors. Currently, Gomo serves on the board of directors of SanDisk and Enphase Energy. Most recently, Gomo served as the EVP & CFO of NetApp. Before joining NetApp, he was the CFO of Gemplus International and Silicon Graphics. Earlier in his career, Gomo served for over 20 years at HP in various positions in finance, financial management, manufacturing, and general management.
Clearinghouse and Directory Services Provider Adds to Board
Neustar has announced the appointment of Dr. Mark Greene, 56, to its Board of Directors. Most recently, he served as the CEO and as a member of the Board of Directors at FICO, a provider of analytics and decision making services. Prior to joining FICO, Greene was the GM of IBM’s Banking Unit. Earlier in his career, he held various leadership positions at Technology Solutions Company, Berkeley Investment Technologies, Citicorp, and the Federal Reserve Board.
Director Resigns from Software Development Firm
Jeannine Strandjordm, 65, notified DST Systems that she plans on retiring from the company’s Board. Currently, she is a director at American Century Mutual Funds, Euronet Worldwide, and JE Dunn Construction Company. Strandjordm is the former SVP & Chief Integration Officer at Sprint. Before being named Chief Integration Officer, she served as the SVP of Financial Services, SVP of Finance for the Global Markets Group, VP & Treasurer, and Controller.
Manufacturer of Power Semiconductors Appoints Former HP Exec to its Board
International Rectifier announced the election of Didier Hirsch, 60, to its Board of Directors. Currently, Hirsch serves as the SVP & CFO of Agilent Technologies, a designer and manufacturer of electronic and bio-analytical measurement instruments. Hirsch has been with Agilent since its inception and has previously served as the company’s VP of Treasury, VP of Corporate Controllership & Tax, and Acting CFO. Prior to Agilent, he was Director of Finance & Administration for HP EMEA. Earlier in his career, Hirsch held finance positions at Ford, Bendix/Allied Signal, and STMicroelectronics.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
