Former PlayStation Exec Takes Over Microsoft Studios Europe
Microsoft announced that Phil Harrison has been named VP of the Interactive Entertainment Business. Most recently, Harrison was a General Partner at London Venture Partners. He continues to serve as a Special Advisor to the company. Before joining London Venture Partners, Harrison served as President of Atari and was a member of the company’s Board. He joined Sony in 1992 and has held various titles at the company, including President of Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios, EVP of Development at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, and VP of 3rd Party & R&D at Sony Computer Entertainment America.
HP Loses Big Data Expert
HP announced the departure of Chris Lynch, 45, as CEO of Vertica, a subsidiary of the company which provides analytic database management software. Prior to joining Vertica, Lynch was SVP of Data Solutions at F5 Networks. He came to F5 Networks from Acopia Networks, where he served as the CEO. Before joining Acopia Networks, Lynch was VP of Worldwide Content Delivery Networking Sales at Cisco Systems. Prior to Cisco, he was VP of Worldwide Sales, Marketing, and Support at ArrowPoint Communications.
Accenture Promotes Group CEO
Accenture announced that Martin Cole, 55, has been named Group CEO of the company's Technology growth platform. He succeeds Kevin Campbell, who has resigned from the company for personal reasons. Until a successor is named, Cole will continue to serve as Group CEO of Accenture's Communications, Media, and Technology operating group. In addition to these titles, he also leads Mobility. During his thirty year career with Accenture, Cole has held a wide variety of leadership roles at the company, including Group CEO of the Public Service operating group and Head of the Outsourcing & Infrastructure Delivery group.
Activision Hires CFO
Activision has appointed Dennis Durkin, 41, as CFO. Before this appointment, he served as Corporate VP, COO, and CFO of Microsoft’s Interactive Entertainment Business, a division which includes Xbox. Before joining the Interactive Entertainment Business, he was part of Microsoft’s Corporate Development & Strategy team. Earlier in his career, Durkin served as a Financial Analyst at Alex, Brown & Co.
Intralinks CEO Joins Simulation Software Board
ANSYS has selected Ronald Hovsepian, 49, to join the company’s Board. Currently, he serves as the CEO of Intralinks and as the Non-Executive Chairman of Ann Taylor. Before joining Intralinks, he served as the CEO at Novell and as the Worldwide GM of Distribution Industries at IBM. Earlier in his career, he was a managing director with several venture capital firms, including Bear Stearns Asset Management and Internet Capital Group.
Pricing & Revenue Management Software Company Recruits Regional Head
PROS Holdings has named Wagner Williams as SVP of Professional Services from his previous role of GM of PROS Europe. Before being named GM of Europe, he was the GM of PROS EMEA. Williams joined PROS in 2004 as Director of Pricing Solutions.
The company also appointed Robert Glenn as GM of the EMEA region. Glenn joins PROS following more than three years with Global 360, where he served as SVP of International Operations. Before Global 360, he was the Head of Sales and Marketing for Gresham Computing. Earlier in his career, Glenn held international sales and marketing roles with Tibco Software and Staffware.
Software Solutions Provider for Retailers Appoints CFO
Retalix has appointed Sarit Sagiv as CFO of the company. Sagiv will succeed Hugo Goldman, who has resigned to pursue other opportunities. Sagiv joins Retalix from Quantum Pacific Group, an international private group of businesses, where she serves as a Board Member of Pacific Drilling. Before joining the Quantum Pacific Group, she served as VP of Finance at Amdocs. Prior to Amdocs, she served as the CFO of Orad Hi-Tec Systems and Cimatron.
