Google Loses Head of Consumer Payments

Vikas Gupta has announced his resignation as Head of Consumer Payments. While at Google, he was one of the leaders on the payments team overseeing Google Wallet. Gupta joined Google after it acquired Jambool, an eCommerce company which he co-founded and led. Prior to founding Jambool, Gupta served as a Senior Manager at Amazon.

Yahoo! Appoints Pair of New Board Members

Yahoo! has selected Alfred Amoroso, 61, to join the company’s Board. Currently, he serves as the CEO of Rovi, a digital entertainment technology leader. Before joining Rovi, he served as an Advisor to Warburg Pincus, an investment firm. Before that, he was the CEO & Vice Chairman of META Group, an IT research and advisory firm. Amoroso has also served as the CEO of CrossWorld Software, a provider of business infrastructure software. Earlier in his career, he held various management positions with IBM.

Maynard Webb, 55, has also joined the Board of Directors at Yahoo! Webb is the founder of Webb Investment Network. He also serves as the Chairman of LiveOps, a provider of contact center solutions. Before transitioning into the Chairman role, he served as the CEO of LiveOps. Prior to LiveOps, he was the CEO of eBay and the President of eBay Technologies. Earlier in his career, he served as the CEO at Extensity, SVP & CIO at Gateway, VP & CIO at Bay Networks, and Director of IT at Quantum. Currently, he serves on the boards of Salesforce.com, AdMob, Hyperion Solutions, PerkettPR, Baynote, and Gartner. He has also held advisory positions with George Bush’s National Infrastructure Advisory Council, the Engineering Advisory Board at Santa Clara University, and Meg Whitman’s 2010 Gubernatorial Finance Committee.

LinkedIn Promotes VP

LinkedIn announced the promotion of Kevin Scott, the VP of Engineering, to the role of SVP of Engineering. Before joining LinkedIn, Scott served as a Senior Engineering Director at Google, where he led mobile ads engineering. Prior to this, he was the VP of Engineering & Operations at AdMob, a mobile advertising marketplace which was acquired by Google. In the past, Scott has received a Google Founder's Award, an Intel Ph.D. Fellowship, and an ACM Recognition of Service Award.

CTO Leaves Internet Search Services Provider

Infospace announced the resignation of CTO Travis McElfresh, 40. Previously, he served as CTO & VP of Technology at Onecast, a news and video service platform startup. Before that, he was the VP of Technology at MSNBC.com. McElfresh has also served as a Lead Program Manager at Microsoft and as a Director of Technical Training at OneSoft.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
