Executive Reorganization at Microsoft

Microsoft announced that Robert Wahbe, the Corporate VP of the Server & Tools Marketing Group, has resigned from the company. Wahbe has been with the Server and Tools Group during his entire tenure at Microsoft. He joined Microsoft in 1996 after Microsoft acquired Colusa Software, a startup which he founded. Takeshi Numoto, the former Corporate VP of the Microsoft Office Product Management Group, has assumed Wahbe’s former title. Numoto joined Microsoft in 1997 as a Business Development Manager on the Windows NT Program Management Team.

Brad Wilson, the GM of the Dynamics CRM business, has resigned from his post. Before joining Microsoft, Wilson was the WW VP of Marketing for PeopleSoft. Dennis Michalis, a former SVP at Infor Global Solutions, has been appointed as the new GM of the Dynamics CRM business. Before joining Infor, Michalis was President & CEO at XALT Technologies and Glovia International.

HP VP Joins Oracle


Oracle appointed Tom LaRocca as WW VP of Product Strategy & Alliances. Before this appointment, he held several senior roles at HP, most recently as the VP of Marketing & Strategy for the Solution Partners Organization. While at HP, he also served as the Director of Program & Product Management for the Enterprise Storage and Server business unit, Director of Field Marketing, and Director of Marketing for Industry Standard Servers. Prior to joining HP, LaRocca held senior roles at Compaq.

HP Appoints CCO & CSO;
Board Member Resigns

HP appointed Henry Gomez, 48, as EVP & Chief Communications Officer. Before joining HP, he was the SVP of Corporate Communications at eBay and the President of Skype. Prior to joining eBay, Gomez was VP of Corporate Affairs at HBO. He started his communications career at Hill and Knowlton.

The company also announced the promotion of Bill Veghte as Chief Strategy Officer. In addition to this appointment, he will continue to serve as the EVP of Software. Prior to HP, he spent around two decades at Microsoft in a variety of senior leadership positions. Most recently, he managed the company's global Windows business and was instrumental in the delivery and launch of Windows 7.

Sari Baldauf, 55, has resigned from the Board at HP. She is the former EVP & GM of the Networks Business Group at Nokia. Before being named as EVP, Baldauf was the President of Nokia Cellular Systems. She currently serves as a Director at Daimler AG.

Application Software Company Recruits Former IBM Exec; New Partner Director Appointed


Micro Focus appointed Dan Mouhot as Director of Microsoft Alliance and Channels. Before joining the company, he served as the Director of the Global ISV Program at Zebra Technologies and as the VP of Technology & Business Solutions at Eclipsys. Earlier in his career, Mouhot was a Senior Product Manager at IBM.

The company also appointed Joe Winthrop as Partner Director for North America. Before this appointment, he served as the President of Sales at salesengineering.com. Earlier in his career, Winthrop was the VP of Business Development at Virtual Access Networks and Marathon Technologies.

CAD/CAM Company Promotes Veterans


Mentor Graphics promoted Richard Trebing, 56, as Corporate Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, and Principal Accounting Officer. Trebing joined Mentor Graphics in 1989 and has been serving as the Director of Finance since 1999. Prior to his tenure at Mentor Graphics, Trebing served as a Financial Planning Manager at OECO Corp and as a Financial Analyst at Spectra Physics.

John Lenyo has been appointed as VP & GM of the company's Design Verification Technology Division. Most recently, he served as the company’s Director of Marketing. Lenyo has also held senior roles at IBM, Sun Microsystems, and Synopsys.

Joseph Reinhart has been promoted to VP of Corporate Development and Investor Relations. Reinhart joined Mentor Graphics in 2008 as a Director of Investor Relations & Corporate Development. Before joining Mentor Graphics, he was VP and Corporate Secretary at Electro Scientific Industries (ESI) and held various positions at Mechanical Technology and Norstar Venture Capital.

Lenovo VP Joins Progress


Progress Software named Henry Hicks as the new Industry VP of Supply Chain. Most recently, he served as Lenovo’s VP of WW Services, Sales, and Marketing. Prior to joining Lenovo, Hicks was a VP at Capgemini Consulting, Senior Manager at Dell, and Manager at Deloitte.

Saba Appoints CFO


Saba Software appointed Elaine Kitagawa as CFO. Most recently, she served as the COO & CFO at Gaia Interactive. Before joining Gaia, Kitagawa was the VP of Corporate Finance & Investor Relations at Ariba. Earlier in her career, she held a variety of financial and operational roles at Clarify, The Dialog Corporation, and 3Com.

Dora Vell

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
