Cisco SVP Joins Moody’s Board

Moody's, a leading credit rating company, announced that Kathy Hill, 55, has been elected to its Board of Directors. She will also serve as a member of the Governance & Compensation Committee and Audit Committee. Currently, Hill is the SVP of Development Strategy & Operations at Cisco Systems. Prior to joining Cisco, she served as VP of Ascend Communications and held senior engineering management positions at Newbridge Networks and Hughes Network Systems. Hill is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Anita Borg Institute for Women and Technology.

Musical Instrument Manufacturer Selects Tech CFO for Board

Steinway Musical Instruments announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Greg Wood to fill a newly created director position. He will also serve on the company's Audit Committee. Currently, Wood serves as the EVP & CFO of Actian, a provider of software that enables organizations to take rapid action on large data sets. Prior to joining Actian, he was the CFO of Silicon Graphics, Liberate Technologies, and InterTrust Technologies.

Parkway Properties announced that Charles Cannada, 52, has been appointed Chairman of the company’s Board of Directors. He has earlier served as a director for Parkway and is currently a member of the Audit Committee and Compensation Committee. Currently, Cannada is a private investor and advisor. Earlier in his career, he held various executive management positions at MCI (previously WorldCom and earlier LDDS Communications), including CFO and SVP in charge of Corporate Development. Cannada serves on the board of directors at Nanoventions, First Commercial Bank, and Stadium Wrap America.

First Pactrust Bancorp has appointed Jeff Karish as the company’s newest director. He will also join the company's Audit Committee. Karish currently serves as EVP and Acting General Counsel of Windsor Media. Prior to Windsor Media, he served as the Head of Strategy and M&A at Yahoo! Media Group and as an Associate Principal for McKinsey & Company.

Former IBM Exec on Mobile Social Advertising Company Board


Blue Calypso announced that it has appointed Richard Fennessy, 46, to the company's Board of Directors. He currently serves as the Chairman & CEO of PeopleJar, a software company which specializes in digital marketing platforms and tools. Before joining PeopleJar, Fennessy served as President and CEO of Insight Enterprises, a Fortune 500 public company providing global IT solutions. Earlier in his career, he led marketing and brand management activities for IBM's personal computer business.

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members. She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
