New CLO at Salesforce.com

Salesforce.com announced that Burke Norton, 44, has joined the company as EVP & Chief Legal Officer. Most recently, Burke served as EVP, General Counsel & Secretary of Expedia. Prior to joining Expedia, he was a Partner at the law firm of Wilson Sonsini Goodrich & Rosati, where he practiced corporate and securities law for over a decade. While at the firm, Burke represented emerging growth and technology companies in the enterprise software, telecommunications, semiconductor, life sciences, entertainment, and e-commerce industries.

IT Infrastructure Company Selects SVP, Security

Manny Rivelo, 47, has joined F5 Networks as the company’s new SVP of Security & Strategic Solutions. He joins F5 after spending 19 years with Cisco Systems, where he most recently served as SVP of Engineering Operations and Systems. Currently, Rivelo is on the board of directors of Apollo Group, one of the world's largest private education providers, and Cisco.

Akamai President Resigns; Company Appoints CIO and EVP


Akamai Technologies announced that David Kenny, 49, has resigned as President & Director of the Company. He will continue to serve the company as a consultant. Kenny is the former CEO of Digitas, an integrated advertising agency.

The company also announced that Kumud Kalia has been appointed as CIO. Prior to Akamai, Kalia ran the Information Services organization for Direct Energy, an energy and services business. Before joining Direct Energy, he was VP & CIO of the Business Markets Group of Qwest Communications International. Kalia was named 'Best in Class' among the Premier 100 IT Leaders for 2008 by Computerworld and has led teams that received CIO 100 and InfoWorld 100 awards for technology innovation in business.

Rick McConnell has been appointed as EVP of Products and Development. Most recently, McConnell was VP and GM of the Unified Communications Business Unit in Cisco's Voice Technology Group. While at Cisco, he also ran the $5 billion Communications and Collaboration business and served as the VP of Collaboration Software Sales. McConnell joined Cisco in 2004 when Cisco acquired Latitude Communications, a provider of voice and web conferencing solutions. At Latitude, he served as the President & CEO. Earlier in his career, McConnell was CFO at Storm Technology and a financial engineer at Credit Suisse First Boston.

Remote Access Management Company Promotes VP


LogMeIn announced the promotion of Andrew Burton to SVP of Products. He has previously served the company as VP of Access and Management and led the development and product marketing of the company's remote access product line. In his new role, Burton will oversee the development of all of LogMeIn's cloud-based access, support, and collaboration offerings.

Internet Mobile Security Company Hires Regional MD


NetQin Mobile announced that it has appointed Geoff Casely as its new MD for the EMEA region. Prior to this appointment, he served as the VP of Global Business Development at Nimbuzz, a company which provides free call, chat, and messaging applications. Before Nimbuzz, Casely was a Commercial Director at Omnifone and Global Pre-Sales Manager at iO Global.

Former Tessera Exec Joins Board of Web Infrastructure Provider


Openwave Systems announced that Henry Nothhaft, 67, has joined its Board of Directors. He has also been appointed to serve as Chairman of Openwave's newly created IP Committee. Nothhaft recently served as the Chairman & CEO of Tessera Technologies. Prior to Tessera, he served as the CEO of Danger, a Microsoft subsidiary which developed the T-Mobile Sidekick smartphone. Before joining Danger, Nothhaft was the CEO of ENDFORCE, a developer of network access control software. He has also served as the Vice Chairman of XO Communications and as CEO of Concentric Network Corporation.
