Shire Expands Board

Shire, a specialty drug company, announced that Susan Kilsby will join the company’s Board of Directors. She will also become a member of the company's Audit, Compliance & Risk Committee. Prior to joining Shire, Kilsby had a distinguished career in investment banking and held senior positions with First Boston, Bankers Trust, and Barclays de Zoete Wedd. Most recently, she served as Chairman of the EMEA M&A team for Credit Suisse. Additionally, Kilsby has held the title of Non-Executive Director at L'Occitane International, a global skin care company.

BCE Gets New Board Member

BCE, Canada’s largest communication services company, announced that Martine Turcotte has been appointed to the new role of Vice Chair of the Québec region. Turcotte started at Bell in 1988 as Legal Counsel, became Chief Legal Officer in 1999, and was promoted to Chief Legal & Regulatory Officer in 2008.


Agricultural Machinery Manufacturer Names New Director

AGCO announced that Mallika Srinivasan, the Chairman and CEO of Tractors and Farm Equipment (TAFE), has been elected to serve on its Board of Directors. TAFE is the second largest tractor manufacturer in India and is partially owned by AGCO. A Wharton graduate, Srinivasan is the recipient of numerous business leadership awards, including being named as The Economic Times' Businesswoman of the Year in 2006 and E&Y’s Manufacturing Entrepreneur of the Year in 2010. Srinivasan also serves as a Director on the Board of Tata Global Beverages, the Indian School of Business (ISB), and the Rural Technology and Business Incubator of the Indian Institute of Technology.

Oil Exploration and Production Company Hires Director

Southwestern Energy Company selected Catherine Kehr to join its Board of Directors. She has previously served in various financial, investment, and management positions with Atlantic Richfield Company, Payden & Rygel, and The Capital Group Companies.

American Air Lines Exec on Gap Board

Gap announced that Isabella Goren, 51, the current CFO of AMR Corporation and American Airlines, has been appointed to the company's Board of Directors. Prior to her role as CFO, Goren was SVP of Customer Relationship Marketing at AMR. She also serves on the Executive Board of the SMU School of Engineering and is a member of the International Women's Forum.

Former Mayor on Delta Air Lines Board

Delta has selected Shirley Franklin, 66, the former Mayor of Atlanta, as the newest member of its Board. Franklin served as Mayor of Atlanta for two terms, from 2002 to 2010. In 2005, TIME Magazine named Franklin one of the five best big city mayors in America and U.S. News & World Report selected her as one of the "Best Leaders in 2005." Prior to being elected Mayor of Atlanta, Franklin served the city in several executive positions, including COO. Currently, Franklin is the CEO and Chairman of the Board for Purpose Built Communities, a national nonprofit organization established to transform struggling neighborhoods into sustainable communities.

Tyson Names Former Dow Chemical Exec to Board

Tyson Foods announced that Kathleen Bader, 60, has been selected as an independent director on its Board. Bader is the former President and CEO of NatureWorks, a chemical company which makes fibers and packaging materials from renewable resources. She also spent more than 30 years with Dow Chemical, where she most recently served as President & CEO of the joint venture initiative Dow Cargill. Bader is currently a board member at Textron and Habitat for Humanity. She also served on President Bush's Homeland Security Advisory Council and on the Board of Haliburton.

New Vice Chairman at Investment Bank

Comerica announced that JP Morgan CFO Karen Parkhill, 45, is joining the company as Vice Chairman of the Board. Also, she will likely succeed current CFO Elizabeth Acton, 60, who plans to retire in 2012. Parkhill joined JP Morgan in 1992 and held various roles within the company such as MD of the Investment Banking Coverage Group. She began her career as an analyst at Rauscher Pierce Refsnes (now known as RBC Dain Rauscher), one of the largest security firms in the nation.

Dora Vell

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
