  • AT&T, TX, Feb 2019 - Pam Parisian, 60, is retiring from AT&T as President of Technology Development. She was the de-factor CIO of AT&T. No replacement has been announced yet.
  • Splunk, CA, Apr 2019 - In the global leadership role, the CIO will provide strategic direction and tactical execution to Splunk’s global operations including corporate IT operations, infrastructure, network, collaboration services, service desk, M&A integration, enterprise business applications, and productivity tools. Splunk is dramatically expanding globally and we are building an enterprise class suite of business applications, web applications, identity services, collaboration tools, infrastructure, network, and employee support services in over a dozen countries.
  • Ameris Bancorp, GA, Dec 2018 - The company announced the retirement of Joseph B. Kissel, the company’s EVP & CIO, effective as of December 31, 2018.
  • Kinsale Capital Group, VA, Nov 2018 - William J. Kenney, Jr. notified Kinsale Capital Group that he will be stepping down from his current role as SVP & CIO, effective July 1, 2019, and transition to a new part-time consulting role managing critical development projects for the Company as well as other endeavors unrelated to the Company.
  • U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Washington, D.C., Aug 2018 - Beth Killoran, who served as CIO for HHS for the past two years, will help develop a strategic IT plan for the U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, shifting roles. HHS CTO Ed Simcox will stand in as acting CIO. The move follows other high-level IT staff departures at the health agency this year, including the loss of former CTO Bruce Greenstein, as well as its CISO.
  • T.D. Williamson, OK, Nov 2018 - The company is seeking a CIO to direct the information systems activities, including systems strategy, design, programming and procedures, and operation of computer and related IT equipment for TDW’s world-wide operation. T. D. Williamson develops and manufactures pipeline equipment and provides services for onshore and offshore applications.

  • AutoNation, FL, Jan 2019 - EVP and CTO, Tom Conophy, will be leaving the Company amid restructuring. The restructuring comes as analysts forecast a dip in U.S. vehicle sales this year. New vehicle sales in the United States are expected to drop as higher interest rates and rising prices could prompt customers to hold off their car-buying plans, the National Automobile Dealers Association said last month. AutoNation, through its subsidiaries, operates as an automotive retailer in the United States.

  • I.D. Systems, NJ, Mar 2019 - I.D. Systems announced that Michael Ehrman resigned from his position as CTO of the company. Mr. Ehrman has agreed to serve as a consultant to the company for the next six months (which term may be extended by mutual agreement of the company and Mr. Ehrman) to ensure a successful transition.   • Cisco Systems, CA - Cisco Systems has hired Jacqueline Guichelaar, a leader in digital enterprise strategies and former group CIO at Thomson Reuters, to oversee IT infrastructure and application development as SVP and CIO.
  • Medtronic, MN - Sean Lennon has been named CIO of Medtronic. He was most recently CIO and Chief Digital Officer at global pharmaceutical company Allergan. He will succeed Mike Hedges who is retiring from this role after 19 years of service to the company, including ten years as CIO.
  • The Hearst Corporation, NY - Hearst announced that Mahendra Durai has been named CIO. He will report to Mark Aldam, EVP and COO. From 2011 to 2019, Durai served as SVP and chief IT officer of CA Technologies. CA Technologies was acquired by Broadcom in 2018.
  • Sonoco Products Company, SC - Sonoco announced that Richard (Rick) Johnson has joined the Company as CIO, reporting to President and CEO Rob Tiede. Johnson comes from HNI Corporation, where he served as VP and CIO since 2011. Sonoco Products Company manufactures and sells industrial and consumer packaging products.
  • Allegheny Technologies, PA - Allegheny Technologies Incorporated announced that Timothy J. Harris will join ATI as SVP, Chief Digital and Information Officer. Prior to Andeavor, Mr. Harris worked for Mylan, a global pharmaceutical company, where he led the IT infrastructure function and was later promoted to CTO and head of Global Technology Services. He will report directly to Robert S. Wetherbee, ATI’s President and CEO. Allegheny Technologies manufactures and sells specialty materials and components worldwide.
  • Barnes & Noble, NY - Barnes & Noble reported the appointment of Carlo Pochintesta as CIO. Pochintesta joins the Company from Rag & Bone Holdings, where he also served as CIO. He will report to Allen Lindstrom, Barnes & Noble's CFO. Pochintesta brings more than 25 years in managing IT for multi-billion-dollar businesses across the retail industry, including Rag & Bone, Steve Madden, Gucci America, and Ann Taylor. Barnes & Noble primarily operates as a bookseller in the United States.
  • Inspire Brands, GA - Inspire Brands announced that Raghu Sagi will join the company as CIO. Sagi most recently served as Chief Engineering Officer for SephoraAmericas (an LVMH brand) where he was responsible for Omni-Channel Digital, Retail, Personalization & CRM including Loyalty, and Data Insights technology capabilities and platforms. He will report to Inspire CEO Paul Brown and will be based out of the Atlanta Support Center. Former CIO Darla Morse will transition from Inspire to become CIO of CKE Restaurants. Inspire Brands operates restaurants.
  • Cott Corporation, ON, Canada - Cott Corporation appointed William Jamie Jamieson as its Global CIO, reporting directly to Tom Harrington, Cott's CEO. In this role, Mr. Jamieson will lead the global IT function and play a key role in shaping the technology agenda across the Cott family of businesses. Most recently, he served as GNC's SVP and CIO, where he oversaw GNC's enterprise technology teams and platforms. Cott Corporation operates as a route based service company.
  • Medidata Solutions, NY - Medidata Solutions appoints Rama Kondru, Ph.D., as the CIO for Medidata. The Acorn AI team is led by industry veterans who are shaping the future of life sciences. Rama Kondru, leads technology development as CTO for Acorn AI, in addition to handling his broader responsibilities as the newly appointed CIO of Medidata. He is former VP, & CIO, Pharma Commercial Business Technology- Americas for The Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson. Medidata Solutions provides cloud-based solutions for life sciences worldwide.
  • Service King Collision Repair Centers, TX - Service King Collision Repair Centers appointed Stacy Peterson to the role of CIO. Peterson most previously served as Chief Experience Officer at Wingstop. Prior to that, she held leadership roles in IT, business and guest experiences at CB Richard Ellis, FedEx Office, and Blockbuster. Service King Collision Repair Centers owns and operates a network of auto collision repair facilities in the United States.
  • Tactile Systems Technology, MN - Tactile Systems Technology appointed Peter Schaubach to the position of CIO. Mr. Schaubach joins Tactile Medical with more than 20 years of experience in IT, including significant leadership experience at public companies in the medical device industry. Mr. Schaubach was previously the CIO at K2M Group Holdings. Tactile Systems Technology, a medical technology company, develops and provides medical devices for the treatment of chronic diseases in the United States.
  • Stites & Harbison, KY - Stites & Harbison named Lee Pfeiffer as its CIO and director of business intelligence. Pfeiffer joins the firm from Equian, one of the largest payment integrity solutions companies for healthcare and insurance data. His experience also includes more than 10 years of senior IT positions at Kindred Healthcare, one of the largest healthcare company in the nation. Stites & Harbison, PLLC is a law firm.
  • SilkRoad Technology, IL - SilkRoad Technology has announced that Asif Malik joins as CIO. He is responsible for product development, R&D and enterprise IT. Prior to SilkRoad, Malik served Forsythe Technology for the past 19 years as Senior Director and saw it through its recent acquisition by Sirius Computer Solutions. SilkRoad Technology provides cloud-based talent management solutions.
  • FNF Servicing, VA - LoanCare has named Sudhir Nair as its new EVP and CIO. Nair will be responsible for planning, organizing, optimizing and managing the overall operation of LoanCare's IT department. He previously served as the EVP and CIO at Xome (Solutionstar), where he led a global technology and operations team. FNF Servicing provides solutions for loan subservicing.
  • CKE Restaurants Holdings, CA - CKE Restaurants Holdings announced Darla Morse will join the company as CIO. In her role as CIO, Morse will oversee global information systems to support internal and external operations, and build an infrastructure that is optimized in support of CKE’s global growth strategy. Morse most recently served as CIO of Inspire Brands. CKE Restaurants Holdings owns, operates, and franchises quick-service restaurants under the Carl’s Jr.
  • Jo-Ann Stores, OH - Varadheesh Chennakrishnan will serve as JOANN’s CIO, helping the company optimize and innovate to create the ultimate craft experience, wherever customers are. Varadheesh joins JOANN from Ulta Beauty, where he spent more than 8 years in roles of increasing responsibility in the IT organization, most recently as SVP, Applications & Enterprise Architecture. Jo-Ann Stores doing business as Jo-Ann Fabrics and Crafts Stores, operates as a fabric and craft specialty retailer in the United States.
  • Summa Health System, OH - Summa Health announced that it has named Bill Schwartz as VP and associate CIO of IT&S. He is responsible for operational leadership of all software applications, as well as Business Intelligence, IT vendor, project, portfolio and performance management. Prior to this new role, Schwartz worked as a consultant for Summa, leading key programs such as EPIC optimization, IT governance design and vendor management. He also served in a number of leadership roles at Children's Hospital, as well as Catholic Health Initiatives in Colorado, where he was responsible for EPIC electronic medical record leadership, IT, and operations management. Summa Health System is an integrated healthcare delivery system that provides healthcare services.
  • Spok, VA - Spok announced that Timothy E. Tindle has joined the company as its CIO. Tindle comes to Spok from Harris Health System, a $1.5 billion-dollar integrated delivery system, whose primary mission is to provide healthcare for the indigent, uninsured and underserved in Harris County Texas. Spok provides critical communication services for healthcare, government, casinos, hotels and resorts, enterprise, higher education, industrial and manufacturing, and senior living and aged care industries.
  • Merchants Insurance Group, NY - Merchants Insurance Group announced that Stephen Cross has promoted to VP & CIO. Cross has been with the firm since 2011 and has more than 20 years of experience. Merchants Insurance Group provides property and casualty insurance services for commercial and personal lines.
  • NJTransit, NJ - Lookman Fazal joined NJTransit as their Chief Information & Digital Officer. He is former CIO & CISO of Argo Turboserve Corporation (ATC). New Jersey Transit Corporation, branded as NJ Transit, is a state-owned public transportation system that serves the US state of New Jersey, along with portions of New York State and Pennsylvania.
  • SUNZ Holdings, FL - SUNZ Holdings announced it has appointed John Sells to the position of CIO. Mr. Sells will set the vision and roadmap for IT initiatives and enterprise systems with a focus on digital transformation and deep usage of data analytics. John Sells came to SUNZ in 2016 with over 10 years of experience leading and developing teams for a boutique data consulting services firm. Prior to his role as CIO, Mr. Sells served as Chief Data Officer. SUNZ Holdings provides policy administration, claims administration, and customer support services.
  • University of Oklahoma, OK - David Horton has been named the Senior Associate VP & CIO for the University of Oklahoma. Horton joined the OU Health Sciences Center in 2001 before being named interim senior associate VP and CIO this spring.

Chief Technology Officers (Non Tech Vendor Product/ CIO/IT)

  • Zovio, AZ - Bridgepoint Education has appointed Umang Jain to the position of CTO. Jain will provide technology vision and leadership in the development and implementation of the company's IT program as it pivots toward education technology services. He reports to CEO Andrew Clark. Prior to joining Bridgepoint, Jain served as CIO for Hill Physicians Medical Group, where he successfully drove the digital transformation of the company by leading its virtual care program, implemented Workday for HR and Finance functions, and modernized its data and data integration infrastructure. Zovio operates as an education technology services company.
  • Manning & Napier, NY - Manning & Napier appointed Chris Briley as CTO. As CTO, Briley will guide the Company's IT strategy, supporting all business functions in a way which generates efficiencies and progresses the company's IT infrastructure. Most recently, Briley was Managing Director and Head of Corporate Application Solutions at Legg Mason. He will report to Chief Executive Officer Marc Mayer. Manning & Napier is publicly owned investment manager.
  • LRES Corporation, CA - LRES named Scott Spencer as its CTO. In this role, Mr. Spencer will drive efficiencies by delivering technological applications, tools, and services that streamline and enhance the company’s current capabilities. He previously served as VP and Divisional CTO of First American Mortgage Solutions, where he successfully led an IT organization in supporting and driving digital transformation across five separate lines of business. LRES Corporation provides residential and commercial property valuations, REO asset management, and HOA solutions for the mortgage and real estate industries.
  • NuCompass Mobility Services, CA - NuCompass Mobility Services appointed Stephen Chen as VP, Technology. Chen's extensive experience includes managing IT programs for large corporations as well as startups, including SRI International, Lockheed Martin, TRUSTe and eBay before joining NuCompass as VP, Technology. NuCompass Mobility Services provides relocation and assignment management services for companies worldwide.

Chief Technology Officers - Tech Products/ Tech Strategy

  • Motorola Solutions, IL - Motorola Solutions announced Dr. Mahesh Saptharishi as the company’s new CTO. Areas of focus will include applications that bring together artificial intelligence (AI) and human intelligence to rapidly interpret vast quantities of data, as well as new user interfaces for efficiently delivering information. Previously, Saptharishi spent five years as CTO for Avigilon, a Motorola Solutions company and a leading provider of video and analytics solutions.
  • SAIC, VA - SAIC announced that Bob Ritchie has been named VP of Software. He replaces Kevin Ikeda, who retires this month, and will report to Josh Jackson, EVP and general manager of the Solutions and Technology Group. In this role, he will be responsible for strategy and investment in software solutions; development, integration, and sustainment of software applications; and migration of legacy code and apps to new environments. He was Senior Principal Software Engineer in his previous role.

  • Red Lion Hotels Corporation, CO - RLH Corporation added Vinod Sankar as SVP and Chief Digital Officer.   • Computer Design and Integration, NY - Computer Design & Integration announced the promotion of Vincent Collado to EVP, Digital Transformation Strategy. Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members.
