Microsoft Announces Departure of Jim Dubois as CIO; Appoints New President in Russia Jim DuBois

Microsoft CIO Jim DuBois is leaving the company. DuBois is a more than 20-year Microsoft veteran who became the company's interim CIO in 2013 and permanent CIO the following year. He went on sabbatical earlier 2017.

Microsoft appointed T. Bochenek as new Microsoft President in Russia. Now he keeps the COO position at Microsoft in Russia.

Oracle Appoints Product Development SVP to Lead the Startup Cloud Accelerator Program ExpansionReggie Bradford

Oracle announced the expansion of its Startup Cloud Accelerator program. The initiative will continue to fuel cloud-enabled innovation around the globe by opening new centers in Bristol, Delhi–NCR, Mumbai, Paris, São Paulo, Singapore and Tel Aviv. Oracle SVP of Product Development Reggie Bradford, will lead the program expansion alongside Oracle Group VP of Development Sanket Atal, who first launched the pilot program in India.

Salesforce announced that Senior Special Writer for The Wall Street Journal Monica Langley will join the company as EVP, Global Strategic Affairs. She will work with the company executive team to develop strategies that will continue to accelerate the company's unmatched growth in the industry. Prior to the company, Langley spent 27 years at The Wall Street Journal, where she wrote many page-one profiles, particularly of newsmakers such as CEOs and presidential candidates.

Microsoft's Applications and Services Group EVP Dr. Qi Lu Steps Down; New MD for India Lab Appointed

Dr. Qi LuDr. Qi Lu, the EVP in charge of Microsoft's Applications and Services Group, is leaving the company due to health reasons. Dr. Lu was previously the president of the Online Services Division, where he led the company’s search, portal and online advertising efforts. He spent 10 years at Yahoo before joining Microsoft in 2008. Many of Lu’s duties will be taken over by Rajesh Jha, a corporate VP who has been leading Microsoft’s Outlook and Office 365 efforts.

VMware Goes Through Major Board and Leadership Shuffle

VMware elected Anthony J. Bates, 48, and Donald J. Carty, 69, to its board of directors. Carty joined the board in December 2015 and Bates joined on February 8, 2016. Bates currently serves as president and member of the board of directors at GoPro. Prior to GoPro, Bates was the EVP, Business Development and Evangelism of Microsoft and prior to that was the CEO of Skype until its acquisition by Microsoft in 2011.

Apple’s Car Project Leader Is Leaving; Makes New Leadership Appointments

Steve Zadesky, the veteran Apple executive overseeing the company’s electric car project is leaving. Zadesky, a former Ford Motor engineer who has overseen the car project for the last two years, and who tripled the size of Apple’s automotive team, is leaving the company for personal reasons. Zadesky spent nearly 17 years at Apple, where he built and led the teams for the first iPod, first iPhone, all subsequent iPhones and iPods and hundreds of Apple accessories.

Salesforce Names Keith Block as COOKeith Block

Salesforce named Vice Chairman and President Keith Block, 54, its COO. Keith Block will continue to serve as vice chairman and president and serve as a member of Salesforce's board. Prior to joining Salesforce, Block served as Oracle's EVP of North America Sales and Consulting, leading a multi-billion dollar sales and services business-unit that achieved record revenue and margin during his tenure.
