CVS Health, Rhode Island, December 2017 - CVS Health CIO Stephen Gold left the company to pursue professional opportunities outside CVS Health.

Intel, California, December 2017 - Diane Bryant would cease to serve as head of Intel's Data Center Group and plans to retire from the company.

Nordstrom, Washington, January 2017 - Nordstrom plans to hire a new CTO by the end of the year, who will be responsible for all aspects of technology, after the CIO and CTO both left early this year.

The AES Corporation, Virginia, June 2017 - SVP & CIO Elizabeth Hackenson departed from the company. No announcements on new CIO yet.

The Western Union Company, Colorado, November 2017 - J. David Thompson, EVP, Global Operations and Technology, CTO, of The Western Union Company resigns to pursue other business opportunities. Sheri Rhodes, CTO, Global Payments and Digital, will serve as Acting CTO until the Company names a permanent successor.

Deloitte, Illinois, December 2016 - Deloitte is looking for a CISO reporting to the CIO.

Avaya, Texas, November 2017 - Avaya is looking for a CISO is responsible for identifying, evaluating and reporting IT, and cybersecurity risk to Avaya and Avaya related information assets, while supporting and advancing business objectives.

Rent-A-Center, Texas, November 2017 - Angela Yochem plans to step down as CIO of Rent-A-Center at the end of the year, taking the newly created role of chief digital officer at Novant Health in January. Rent-A-Center is seeking a successor for the CIO post.

Equifax, Georgia, September 2017 - CIO David Webb and Chief Security Officer Susan Mauldin are leaving after the data breach. Mark Rohrwasser has been appointed interim CIO and Russ Ayres has been appointed interim Chief Security Officer.

Teradata, California, November 2017 - Teradata is seeking a VP, Global Cyber Security (CISO), who will lead the Company’s Cyber Security Team to coordinate business outcomes and strategic value capture.

E*TRADE, New York, September 2017 - Michael Foley, EVP and Chief Technology and Operations Officer, is leaving E*TRADE to pursue other opportunities.

Twitter, California, December 2016 - Twitter's CTO Adam Messinger left.  *no replacement announced. It is unclear the company is looking for a CTO.

The Buckle, Nebraska, November 2015 - The Buckle is seeking a CIO to direct, plan, and manage the company's Information Systems.

Shutterstock, New York, July 2017  - David Giambruno, the Company’s CIO, will be leaving the Company.

Global Eagle Entertainment, California, November 2016 - Global Eagle Entertainment and Aditya Chatterjee, the company’s CTO, have entered into a Separation and Release Agreement.

Inovalon, Maryland, April 2017 - Joseph R. Rostock’s employment as the Inovalon Holdings’s CTO ended.

Paycom Software, Oklahoma, November 2017 - William X. Kerber III, Paycom’s CIO, departs. Two of Paycom’s senior technology leaders, Brad Smith and Shane Hadlock, will work together to assume Kerber’s responsibilities until his successor is named.

StarTek, Colorado, October 2015 - Kamalesh Dwivedi, the company's CIO, left the company.

Tucows, Canada, March 2017 - Kenneth Schafer, EVP, CIO of Tucows, resigned.

Central 1 Credit Union, BC, Canada, September 2017 - Oscar van der Meer, Chief Digital & Payments Officer has left the company. The company has begun their search for a new leader for Central 1’s Digital & Payments line of business. In the interim, Henrique Godinho will step into the role of Interim VP, Digital & Payments.

Mastech Digital, Pennsylvania, March 2016 - Denis D. Deet ceased to be VP of Technology and CIO of Mastech.

Neos Therapeutics, Texas, June 2017 - Juergen A. Martens, the Chief Technology and Operations Officer of Neos Therapeutics, will be resigning from his position.

Cartesian, Kansas, June 2016 - Cartesian announced the termination of employment to Jim Baker, the Company's CTO and CIO and a named executive officer., California, September 2017 - Chris Koverman, VP, Product and Engineering of announced his resignation.

Inpixon, California, September 2017 - Inpixon announced resignation of Craig Harper as CTO.

Everspin Technologies, Arizona, October 2017 - Jon Slaughter, Ph.D, VP, Technology Research and Development, informed that he will be leaving the Everspin.

Diadexus, California, March 2016 - Dr. Emilia Zychlinksy, EVP and Chief Technical Officer, resigned.

United States Department of Defense, Washington, D.C., January 2017 - Terry Halvorsen, who as the Pentagon’s CIO, retired. Current principal deputy CIO, John Zangardi, is expected to step in as acting CIO.

NASA, Washington D.C., May 2017 - Michael Witt, who joined NASA in February, will become acting senior agency information security officer, replacing Jeanette Hanna-Ruiz.

University of Oklahoma, Oklahoma, June 2017 - Oklahoma Eddie Huebsch has been named interim CIO at the University of Oklahoma. Huebsch has served OU IT for more than 16 years in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as associate VP of technology advancement.

Dallas Independent School District, Texas, June 2017 - CTO Bob Moore left in June. The role is vacant.

Allied Payment Network, Indiana - Allied Payment Network, the payment platform company, is  seeking a CTO who will be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the company.

Elbit Systems of America, Texas - Elbit Systems of America is seeking a CISO who will be responsible for establishing and maintaining Elbit System of America’s information security management program.

University of California, California - University of California, San Diego, is looking for a CTO and Director of Enterprise Computing who will lead the Office of Engineering Computing (OEC), a comprehensive IT organization providing administrative and academic IT services both to the School and other campus units.

Huawei Technologies, Massachusetts - Huawei Technologies is seeking a CTO - Enterprise Storage, for Massachusetts location to lead the development of the storage strategy and roadmap; ensure its integration with the enterprises strategic planning and process, as well as the resulting business strategy and plans.


Europe, Middle East & Africa 

Liberty Global plc, United Kingdom - Balan Nair, currently Chief Technology & Innovation Officer for Liberty Global, will assume the position of President and CEO of its Latin American and Caribbean operation once the split-off from Liberty Global occurs, which is expected around the end of the year. Mr. Nair will remain in his current position with Liberty Global until the split-off is completed, and a search is already underway for his successor.


Asia Pacific 

Tata Motors, India, September 2017 - CTO Tim Leverton has resigned and will continue in the position until 31 October, and his successor will be announced in due course.

First Philippine Holdings Corporation and First Gen Corporation, Philippines - Charlie R. Valerio, VP and CIO of the Corporation, resigned effective September 30, 2017, to pursue other interests.

Cheetah Mobile, China, December 2017 - The company announced that Mr. Charles Fan will resign as CTO of the Company for personal reasons.

Just Dial, India, October 2016 - $104.2M, October 2016 - R. V. Raman, CTO of the company has resigned.

OFX Group Limited, Australia, December 2017 - OFX announced that Mr. Craige Pendleton-Browne, OFX's CTO, has resigned for personal reasons.

Oceanus Group, Singapore - Tan Kim Chuan Matthew stepped down as Chief Risk Officer and CTO of the company.


Latin America 

TOTVS S.A., Brazil - TOTVS approved the resignation tendered by the CTO, Mr. André Bretas Nunes de Lima.

The United States & Canada

United Technologies Corporation, Connecticut - United Technologies has appointed Paul Eremenko as SVP and CTO. Eremenko will join UTC from Airbus, where he is the CTO.

Cisco Systems, California - Cisco SVP of Asia Pacific and Japan Irving Tan will take on the newly created role of SVP of Operations and Digital.

Tech Data Corporation, Florida - Tech Data appointed Sergio Farache to SVP, Global Cloud Solutions. Previously served as SVP, Solutions and Strategy within Tech Data's Americas Enterprise Solutions business.

Tech Data also appointed Andy Gass as SVP, Digital, Europe. Gass joined Tech Data in 1993 and has since served in a number of senior roles, including SVP, Enterprise Division, and regional SVP for Western Europe.

Bank of Montreal, Quebec, Canada - BMO Financial Group appointed Brett Pitts to the newly created position of Chief Digital Officer. Most recently EVP and Group Head of Digital, responsible for all aspects of the bank's digital channels and experiences.

Biogen, Massachusetts - Biogen appointed Mark Hernon as SVP, CIO. In recent years with Takeda Pharmaceuticals, he was the Regional CIO for the Americas and Global Head of R&D, QA and HR Systems, as well as VP of Operations for the Cambridge, MA site. He was most recently the Global Head of R&D Site Strategy and Operations., California - Bret Taylor would assume the position of President and Chief Product Officer. Taylor joined Salesforce in 2016 through the acquisition of Quip, where he was founder and CEO. Former CTO of Facebook.

Teck Resources, British Columbia, Canada - Teck Resources appointed Kalev Ruberg as VP, Teck Digital Systems and CIO. Ruberg joined Teck in 2006 as CIO.

The Williams Companies, Oklahoma - John Poarch became SVP of Engineering Services for Williams. Immediately prior to this position, he served as Vice President, Commercial for the West Operating Area for Williams.

Adobe Systems, California - Adobe appointed Scott Belsky as chief product officer and EVP, Creative Cloud. Belsky previously served as Adobe's VP of products, leading the Creative Cloud mobile product strategy.

S&P Global, New York - S&P Global is launching three new Operational Services functions (S&P Global Engineering and Technology Innovation Services, S&P Global Data Operations and S&P Global Digital Infrastructure). Nick Cafferillo will become the new Chief Technology Officer for S&P Global. Nate Haskins will become the Chief Data Officer at S&P Global. S&P Global Digital Infrastructure will be led by Swamy Kocherlakota. Swamy will become S&P Global's new CIO. 

Krishna Nathan, S&P Global's current CIO, will play an advisory role until the end of March 2018.

Under Armour, Maryland - Michael La Guardia will join as SVP, Digital Product. La Guardia was most recently the head of product for both Yahoo! Finance and Sports.

Westinghouse Electric Company, Pennsylvania - Ken Canavan has been appointed CTO. Canavan, previously was director of engineering for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI).

Sims Metal Management Limited, New York - Brendan McDonnell joined Sims as the CTO. He has worked in highly technical and digital businesses including as a director of 1Stop Connections and as the GM of Patrick Technology.

Groupon, Illinois - Groupon named Colin Bodell as CTO to lead the company’s global engineering efforts across three continents. Joins from American Eagle Outfitters where he was also CTO. 

REI, Washington - REI has appointed retail veteran Christine Putur as the company’s new CIO.

Seven Generations Energy, Alberta, Canada - Seven Generations Energy promoted Jordan Johnsen to VP, Operations & Engineering. Jordan has played a vital role in the development and growth of 7G over the past 10 years.

Shiloh Industries, Ohio - Glen Holtz has joined the company in the newly created position of VP, engineering and technology. Most recently, Holtz served as the VP of engineering at Inalfa Roof Systems.

CIBC Mellon Global Securities Services Company, Ontario, Canada - Bill Graves has joined the company as Chief Technology and Data Officer. Previously Bill held senior technology and data roles in the financial services sector for over 20 years.

DocuSign, California - DocuSign appointed Kirsten Wolberg as chief technology and operations officer. Previously, Wolberg served as CIO at Salesforce and VP of technology at both PayPal and Charles Schwab.

CAN Capital, New York - Mike Dodson named as VP, Technology. Dodson has more than 20 years of experience, leading multi-site business units in both IT and operations environments.

Fleishman-Hillard, Missouri - FleishmanHillard has elevated Sophie Scott to the role of global managing director, technology. Scott was previously a senior partner and managing director of technology and strategy for the U.K. and EMEA.

Liquidity Services, Maryland - Liquidity Services appointed Mr. Roger Gravley as CIO for the Company. Gravley will maintain his current responsibilities as President of GovDeals, the Company's online marketplace for state and local government agencies.

Home Capital Group, Ontario, Canada - Home Capital Group appoints Victor DiRisio to newly created CIO role. DiRisio brings over 15 years of experience in C-level Information Technology and Supply Chain roles in large national retail, wholesale and distribution, and manufacturing organizations.

Independent Bank Corporation, Michigan - Independent Bank Corporation promoted Russ Daniel as EVP – Operations and Digital Banking. Most recently SVP of Retail and Mortgage Lending.

AlixPartners, New York - AlixPartners announced that Bill Krivoshik has joined as CTO. Bill joins AlixPartners from consultancy Kroll.

AKQA, California - AKQA appointed Kirsten Haitz as the Executive Analytics Director to lead the growing Analytics and Data Science practice. Joins with over 20 years of analytics and strategy experience at top companies such as Walmart, Levi’s, Gap, PwC, and as an industry expert for Emissary, a Google-backed startup.

Econolite Control Products, California - Econolite appointed Eric Raamot to CTO. Raamot succeeds the company’s Senior VP and CTO Gary Duncan, who will retire. Raamot was previously the company’s VP of Engineering.

Collective, New York - Appointed as CTO is Jaisimha Muthegere, who most recently led the development of the Visto Hub as a SVP.

Lithium Technologies, California - Raju Malhotra has been hired as Lithium Technologies' new CTO. Malhotra joins Lithium from Conversant.

AccuWeather, Pennsylvania - AccuWeather named Kurt Fulepp as Chief Product Officer. He most recently served as VP and Digital General Manager of News and Business at Time.

Center for Diagnostic Imaging, Minnesota - Glenn Galloway was named as CIO. Galloway joins from Children’s Health Network, where he has served as their CEO since 2014.

Optimity Advisors, District of Columbia - Optimity Advisors announced that Adam Blumenthal has joined the firm as Chief Digital Officer. Former R/GA, Burson-Marsteller, and McKinney.

Evariant, Connecticut - Evariant appointed Sudhakar Gorti as CTO to drive the company's global engineering efforts. Gorti most recently served as Integra Connect’s CTO.

Energy Focus, Ohio - Energy Focus appointed Laszlo Takacs as its CTO. Most recently, he served as Senior Principal Engineer at Soraa.

Revel Systems, California - Revel Systems named Erick Kobres to CTO. Most recently, Erick served 2 years as CTO and Head of Product at Vivonet.

Penske Media Corporation, California - Penske Media promoted its head of monetization Brian Levine to VP of revenue operations, a role in which he will optimize digital revenue across the company's growing portfolio of iconic brands.

Securian Financial Group, Minnesota - Securian Financial Group has named Sid Gandhi as chief strategy and enterprise technology officer. Most recently, chief strategy and customer engagement officer.

Aegis Sciences Corporation, Tennessee - Aegis, a leading healthcare sciences and forensic toxicology laboratory, named Tim Ryan as CIO. Joins from Miraca Life Sciences.

VIQ Solutions, Alberta, Canada - VIQ Solutions appointed Mike May to lead the technology development of aiAssistTM. Prior to joining VIQ, Mike was CIO of Progressive Waste.

Shapiro + Raj, Illinois - Shapiro+Raj appointed Dr. Robert A. Hart, Jr. as SVP of Research and Analytics. In addition to starting his own market research company, he has led teams at Harris Interactive, Ispos, Hall & Partners and most recently, NPD Group. 

Young Living Essential Oils, Utah - Young Living Essential Oils LC announced that it has hired Mike Green as SVP of Information Technology. Green most recently serves as CIO for Plexus Worldwide.

Everyday Health, New York - Ali Hasan has been hired to serve as VP and Head of Engineering. Before joining Everyday Health, Hasan was VP Engineering at COTA (Cancer Outcomes Tracking Analysis).

American Society Of Health-System Pharmacists, Maryland - American Society of Health-System Pharmacists announced that Robert D. Rosecrans, M.B.A., will join as CIO and VP of IT. Rosecrans was most recently a partner with Pixces Consulting Group. 

Rackspace Hosting, Texas - Rackspace Hosting announced that Datapipe leader Joel Friedman, is now CTO of the company.

Rising Medical Solutions, Illinois - Rising Medical Solutions appointed David Huth as VP of Product Design and Development. Most recently, David served as VP of Strategy for Optum's managed care and settlement solutions division.

Interactions, Massachusetts - Interactions, which is a Franklin, MA based $100M AI success story, named Robert Nagle as Chief Technology & Product Officer. With 35 years experience leading enterprise technology ventures in the Boston area, most recently Robert launched a startup Ornent Analytics providing large scale data analytics. He is former VP of InterSystems, Molecular Simulations and Automatix.

Holiday Companies, Minnesota - Tammylynne Jonas was named as CIO at Holiday Companies. Formerly at Kohl's.

Harper Grey, BC, Canada - Dharam Dheensaw was promoted from CTO to CIO.

United States Department of Homeland Security, Washington, D.C. - John Zangardi, the acting CIO of the Department of Defense, has been named as CIO of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

Europe, Middle East & Africa 

HSBC Holdings PLC, United Kingdom - HSBC has hired Mike Warriner as CIO of its retail banking and wealth management digital division. Joins after five years at Google, most recently as an engineering director involved with Google’s advertising platform and payments technology in Europe.

Kering S.A., France - Kering appointed Grégory Boutté as Chief Client and Digital Officer. Joins from Udemy.

Accor SA, France - AccorHotels appointed Gilles de Richemond as CIO. Gilles has been Managing Director of Voyages-SNCF Technologies.

Kamux Oyj, Finland - Kamux Oyj has appointed Mikko-Heikki Inkeroinen, 30, as Chief Digital Officer. Inkeroinen joins Kamux from Power International AS where he was Head of Digital Commerce.

Opera Software, Norway - Opera Software appointed Andrzej Dzius as their new CTO. Andrzej is a proven ad tech executive, former CTO of their German platform.

Tradedoubler, Sweden - François Pacot was named CTO. Pacot joined Tradedoubler in December 2016 when the group acquired R-Advertising in which he holds the position of CEO.

Moonpig.Com, United Kingdom - Moonpig has appointed Peter Donlon as its CTO. Prior to this appointment, Donlon worked for Glue Home as a head of software engineering.

Euroclear, Belgium - Yves Dupuy joined the Brussels-based financial services firm Euroclear as CIO. Former CIO of Société Générale SA.

Asia Pacific 

Aboitiz Power, Philippines - Aboitiz Power Corporation appointed Noreen Marie N. Vicencio as Data Privacy Officer, replacing Ronaldo S. Ramos. Former AVP, Risk Management at the company.

AirAsia Berhad, Malaysia - Aireen Omar, the current CEO of AirAsia Berhad, will be promoted to Deputy Group CEO - Digital, Transformation, Corporate Services.

Philippine National Bank, Philippines - Philippine National Bank named Chief Risk Officer Ms. Carmela Leticia A. Pama as the Data Protection Officer of the bank.

Prior to founding the firm in 2005, Vell was a Partner at Heidrick & Struggles' Technology practice for seven years.  Before her career in executive search, she worked at IBM for 11 years, managing software engineering organizations of 100 people and software sales organizations with revenues of $150 million. She has also served as an executive assistant to the CEO of IBM Canada for one year.

Vell holds seven worldwide software patents. She has published several Business of Leadership reports on governance and leadership and has been quoted in numerous articles including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Business Week, Fortune, Agenda Week, MSNBC, Mass High Tech, the OPUS for the World Economic Forum, Boston Business Journal, The Globe & Mail, CIO Magazine, and IEEE. She also has been a featured speaker on leadership at numerous conferences and at Columbia University's MBA program.

Vell is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD), the Boston CEO Roundtable. She has served on the boards of Framingham State, Entrepreneur's Organization, Goodwill, Mary Centre for developmentally handicapped adults,, and RBC Capital Partners.

She has received an MBA from the University of Toronto, a Master in Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor in Computer Science from Carleton. She has also completed the MIT Entrepreneurial Master’s program.
