eBay, Square, NetApp & Others name Women to their Board of Directors

Tech Giants Welcoming Women on Board

eBay appoints Adriane Brown and Diana Farrell to its Board - Ms. Brown, 59, is former CEO, Honeywell Transportation Systems. Ms. Farrell, 59, is the Founding President and CEO at JPMorgan Chase Institute, a global think tank and former McKinsey.

Fidelity National Information Services Appoints Louise M. Parent, 67, as Director - A former EVP and general counsel of AmEx, Parent has more than 35 years of experience in the financial industry. Parent retired from American Express in 2013.

Square Announces Ai Expert Anna Patterson, 52, as Newest Board Member - Patterson is the Founder and Managing Partner at Gradient Ventures, google’s AI focused venture fund.  Patterson is also VP of Engineering at Google and most recently helped to integrate AI into products across Google.

Former CIO Mary Louise (ML) Krakauer, 60, Joins Semiconductor company Xilinx ‘s Board -  The supplier of programmable logic devices appointed  Krakauer, who is retired EVP, CIO of Dell. She also served as the EVP, CIO of EMC in 2016. 

Micro Focus International Appoints Lawton Wehle Fitt, 64, as a Non-Executive Director - Lawton currently serves on the boards of Ciena, The Progressive Corporation and The Carlyle Group. Lawton worked at Goldman Sachs for over 23 years, with roles in the bank's investment banking, equities and asset management divisions.

NetApp announced that Deborah Kerr, 45, former EVP and chief product and technology officer at Sabre, has joined its board – Also served as chief product and technology officer at Sabre and Fair Isaac. Deborah Kerr brings keen insights into the ways customers are buying, deploying, managing, and using IT. In her various roles, including as the chief product and technology officer at Sabre and Fair Isaac, as well as in leadership roles at Hewlett Packard and Peregrine Systems, Ms. Kerr has developed a deep understanding of customer priorities, digital transformation, and the future of IT.

Altice USA Appoints CEO of Videotron Manon Brouillette, 48, as Director - Altice USA, one of the largest broadband communications and video services providers, appointed Brouillette, CEO of Videotron, to board.

Women Departing from Large Tech Boards

Ambassador Charlene Barshefsky, 67, Not to Stand for Re-Election to Intel’s Board - Barshefsky, a member of the Board since 2004, will continue to serve in her independent Board role and Board committee membership until the 2018 Annual Stockholders' Meeting. No reason was provided. 

Diane B. Greene, 62, decided to step down from the Board of Intuit - She will not stand for re-election at Intuit’s annual meeting of stockholders in January 2018 and will continue to serve on the Board until that time. Greene was co-founder and the CEO of VMware from 1998 until 2008. She is the CEO for Google's cloud businesses, and also serves on the company’s board of directors. 

LM Ericsson Telephone Company Announces Board Departure - Kristin Skogen Lund, 51, Head of Digital Services & Broadcast of Telenor ASA  is leaving the wireless infrastructure equipment giant’s board. 

Changes on Software Boards

Enterprise cloud computing Nutanix Appoints Sue Bostrom, 57, as Board Member - Nutanix added Sue Bostrom to its board of directors. Bostrom served as EVP, CMO and Worldwide Government Affairs of Cisco Systems from 1997 to 2011. Craig Conway, former CEO of Peoplesoft also joined at the same time.

HubSpot Appoints Jill Ward, 57, to Board of Directors - Inbound marketing & sales software firm HubSpot named seasoned business executive Jill Ward to board. Most recently, Jill served as President, COO, and CEO-elect of Fleetmatics. 

Mimecast Appoints Geraldine Elliott, 60, to its Board - Email security software company Mimecast announced Geraldine (Gerri) Elliott, former Chief Customer Officer of Juniper Networks and founder of, has joined its board.

IRESS Appoints Julie Fahey to the Board as Non-Executive Director – Australia based financial markets trading software company IRESS named Julie Fahey to board. She was deputy managing director at SAP Australia and Executive Director, Information Systems and Services at GM Holden. 

Elizabeth Lake, 75, to Step Down from Board of Fidessa Group plc, the trading and investment management software firm - She joined the board in October 2008. She is former President of Securities Processing Solutions International at Broadridge Financial Solutions.

Yext Announces New Board Member - Yext, the leader in Digital Knowledge Management, named Tamar Yehoshua, 52, Google’s VP of Product Management for Search, to its Board.

Other Board Changes

Groupon announced that Deborah Wahl, 55, will join its Board - Wahl, a long time senior marketing executive, most recently served as SVP and CMO at McDonald’s, USA.

Cloud-based web development platform Appoints Deirdre Bigley, 52, as Director - Bigley currently serves as CMO of Bloomberg, which she joined in 2009. Prior to joining Bloomberg, she spent thirteen years at IBM.

Cloud-based digital banking solutions firm Q2 Holdings named Lynn Atchison as Director - Atchison is CFO of Spredfast , the leading independent social marketing software provider. Former CFO of HomeAway.

Michelle McKenna-Doyle, 51, will be joining comScore’s Board as an Independent Director - McKenna-Doyle, who is currently SVP, CIO at the National Football League (NFL), was proposed by Starboard Value LP and approved by the comScore Board, pursuant to the previously announced settlement with Starboard. 

Elizabeth A. Nelson, 57, resigned from the Board of Internet music platform Pandora Media. She is former CFO of Adobe Macromedia.

Quotient Technology Appoints Michelle Mckenna-Doyle, 51, to its Board - McKenna-Doyle has served as SVP and CIO of the NFL since September 2012. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of RingCentral and comScore.

Electro Scientific Industries Appoints Lynne Camp as Member of the Board - Camp is a seasoned executive who spent over 30 years in high-tech. For 15 years she served as VP and GM of global businesses at Hewlett-Packard, Agilent Technologies, Tektronix and Danaher Corporation. 

Fortune 500 integrated communications company R.R. Donnelley Names Irene M. Esteves, 58, to the Board - She is former CFO of Time Warner Cable, XL Group plc, and Regions Financial Corporation.

Dora Vell

Dora Vell is the Managing Partner of Vell Executive Search, a boutique executive search firm in Boston focused on recruiting technology executives and board members.
